RSVP yes, for sure. If you interested don't forget to do it so!

Join us for a Google+ Hangout on Air on Monday, Aug. 5 at 5 pm ET/2 pm PT as we introduce our flagship show, “America Tonight”! Special correspondent Soledad O’Brien and host Joie Chen join digital producer Azmat Khan and the “America Tonight” team to discuss how they’re doing news differently.

You’ll get a sneak peek into upcoming stories and learn more about the show’s mission to tell urgent, important and underreported stories with the quality, depth and time they deserve.

The Google+ Hangout on Air is also an opportunity for you to help us find those stories. We want to hear from you! Tweet @AJAM(https://twitter.com/ajam) with #AJAMLive or leave a comment below to give us your thoughts on the following topics:

1) How should a nightly news program serve you?
2) #AllAmericans: Share first-person stories from Americans who usually go unheard.
3) #WhatWorks: Successful solutions to problems, with concrete demonstrable results. These can include anything from a scientific breakthrough, to a medical cure, to a program that remedies social problems, to an individual who changes lives for the better.

“America Tonight” producers will be looking through your pitches and selecting a handful to be featured in the Hangout, and you may even see your story idea on the show when the channel launches Aug. 20.

Be sure to RSVP here for the Google+ Hangout on Air on Aug. 5, and invite your friends to join too!

Newseum visit.
As journalists, it is very difficult to not stop once in a while at the Newseum. Located right at Pennsylvania Ave, and a few blocks from U.S. Capitol and White House. Took pictures out of my iPhone and I think they came out ...

Introduction
A graduate from the University of Maryland with a degree in journalism, who was born and raised in Brazil, but moved to the U.S. in 2004 where I’ve had the privilege to pursue my academic dreams and achieve my educational goals. A Portuguese and Spanish speaker with passion for storytelling since fifth grade. Throughout my four years in school, I’ve had the chance to intern for USA Today, and work as an international correspondent for G1 Portal Brazilian News where I covered the 2012 American presidential election. I also covered Montgomery County at the Gazette Newspaper and now I am a broadcast reporter for MyMcMedia. I am grateful to have had such amazing opportunities in life, which helped shape the type of journalist I have always aspire to be, and after 10 years living in Maryland, I became a Marylander by heart. If you have a story, send me an email and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter @AlineBarros2.
