Anyone found a successful/interesting/engaging way to teach Informational Literacy to Middle schoolers?

Students have to complete the tasks of my videos in order to have a final product. If they miss design tips from the instructional videos, they lose points. They have to be actively watching and incorporating tips in order to have an attractive product. I agree about using Wikipedia. Hopefully students are reinforced to use credible resources in all their classes. When they do an Endangered animal unit, they use a resource I provide them. They are even encouraged to use other credible sources such as National Geographic to get their information. I have them do an activity where they find "facts" about South America. I then let them know that all the information they gathered was false. This leads into my Hoax or Not unit. Here is my South American site: https://sites.google.com/site/southamericannews/home Here is the teacher resource page: https://sites.google.com/site/southamericannews/teacher Here is the truth page: https://sites.google.com/site/southamericannews/disclaimer/truth

Hey educators,  Do you have chat turned on for your students grades 6-8?  If so, let me know how that's working for you.

Hi Cassy,

Yikes--I haven't been very active on G+.  Do you still have green screen questions?
