whooooo MLK black history month goes to you RIP

Thank you for shearing................... January 21, 2013 an easy 18 mile relaxing meditative run, “We can’t escape pain; we can’t escape the essential nature of our lives. But we do have a choice. We can give in and relent, or we can fight, persevere, and create a life worth living, a noble life. Pain is a fact; our evaluation of it is a choice.”

So let us learn from a voice that which carries and still speaks volumes and let us continue to live in love as well display it...Your life lays the groundwork, think about it... Aim high...Smile

wish he was still alive to see hw the world is now will always remember you

if he was here now ... he would be disappointed... hardly nothing changed... good thing he would  b happy is that we finally have a black president.

It's hard to do in practice but it's true and in the end worth doing!!!

No doubt he was referring to Jesus Christ. The Light and Love who chases out darkness and conquers hate.

Nice. Made my day. :)

When your inner light shines brighter and brighter that is beauty!...

the exact reason why we should not hate the conneticut shooter

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral,
begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy.
Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it.
Through violence you may murder the liar,
but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth.
Through violence you may murder the hater,
but you do not murder hate.
In fact, violence merely increases hate.
So it goes.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence,
adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness:
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Love him dearly! He is a good good man and a gentleman at that!:-)

He did an amazing thing, and if you find him inspirational, think of all the people who inspired him, to fight with love, to come through with courage, and to make the world a better place.

I love him, he made me able to sit down on the bus, to ask for something without being spat on, and to be equal with the white. He also made my dream come TRUE.

R.I.P we have a dream..... :-) miss u .Martin Luther king Jr

so true, amazing it has been 50 years since the march on washington i was there as an eight year old with friends and family. Will never forget it.

During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court, which resulted in the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman’s issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

I don't think the issue and pain and suffering of blacks in this country during the Civil Rights era that Dr. King fought for was that of a political party issue, it was a color issue, black and white. It has never been said that white Democrats liked black people anymore than white Republicans. So, no certain political party gets brownie points or a feather in their cap for their public stand on racial issues during those times, besides the country is just as divided now that we have a black president in office. Sad to say, but Dr. King would still be "dreaming" if he were alive today.
