Yesterday's #SMEMWater social media exercise facilitated by#PDX / Washington emergency manager +Cheryl Bledsoe
demonstrates the importance of having social-media literacy within a response organization. By combining the real-time information flow with the relative safety of a non-emergency event, #SMEMWater mimicked what many #SMEM'ers have known for a while now: that Twitter and other social media platforms act as an echo-chamber, rapidly repeating and enhancing an original message.
If you participated in the exercise please take a moment to complete an evaluation form at http://www.sm4em.org/2012/01/thank-you-seems-insufficient/
Cheryl has noted that a series of follow-up posts will be available on the www.SM4EM.org
website. So stay tuned for more analysis from this groundbreaking event!
