Heads-up Microsoft Internet Explorer users.

A zero-day vulnerability, being exploited in targeted attacks, has been discovered.  Microsoft has released a temporary fix.

Funny how both Microsoft and Facebook announced their hacks on Friday afternoons as journalists were closing down for the weekend..

Here's the latest on the Apple Developer Center "hack".

What do you think? Did the researcher act responsibly, or should have asked permission to probe Apple's website for security holes first?

We're used to hearing how phones and planes don't play nicely together, but this is something else. Could a hacker bring down a flight simply by using his Android handset?

I'm mostly just posting this so I can find it later. Every time I hear someone make excuses for ISPs and carriers enforcing data caps, the first thing that jumps in my mind is "the internet doesn't work that way!" It's nice to have a visual representation of how and why this is the case. Sorry, guys: heavy data users are not using up all the bandwidth for everyone else. That's a sign of poor network management in the worst case, and if that were really a problem then ISPs wouldn't be selling higher speed services. Since companies like +Verizon Wireless, +Comcast.com, +AT&T, and others aren't asking people to use fewer of their services (quite the opposite), the reason for adding data caps is pretty obvious.

To take more of your money.

Don't believe the data cap hype.

Major bug, security issue, with iMessage.

I have just got a new cell phone with a new number for work.
If anyone sends me a message from an iPhone I never receive it unless they force it to be sent by SMS.
The reason is that some previously had this number and registered it with an AppleID and activated iMessage.
The problem is that unless that person removes the phone number from his AppleID account any message sent using an iPhone to "my" cell number arrives in this other parties iMessage list.
On a call with Apple and they say just tell people to send only SMS messages to your phone.  Really!!!!

More to follow....

Latest news is tech support "think" the number will deactivate after 90 days from who ever has it currently attached to their AppleID.

The problem, according to Apple, is that other party should have deactivated the phone number in their AppleID account.  I do like the blame game "Not my fault Gov".

Escalated to engineering as no one in tech support has any access to the iMessage database where the numbers are associated with AppleID's.

The latest is this saga is I had to try and contact the other person and ask him to call Apple so they can tell him how to fix his account.  They have no way to resolve this problem.  The iMessage user is to know that you have to remove an old phone number from their account.  Now you all knew that of course.
