My husband and I wanted to visit Charleston for our anniversary. I chose Francis Marion because it was in the heart of it all. Our stay was perfect from the time we arrived until the time we left. We were greeted in our room with a strawberry tray from the concierge Thomas. Who also answered every dinning question we had, including dinner at Hanks and Breakfast at Jacks. The staff was amazingly pleasant and always willing to help us. We chose to valet so that we wouldn't have to deal with the city parking deck and Tanner our valet was our favorite attendants. I left my phone in the car and he promptly returned it without me having to ask. We stayed in a very cute room that had a his and hers theme. The bathrooms are less than 100 sqft but I had my own and my husband had his own so there was a slight reconciliation in that degree. We even had his and hers vanities with my side having a chair and vanity mirror and his side had a desk. The room itself was ample in size. Seeing previous rooms I assumed it would be smaller and was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous city view outside of our window. This was truly an amazing experience. We will return to this hotel again. It is truly magical and every detail was not left unnoticed. If you are in Charleston and looking for a nice hotel with even better people that still has the style and grace of Charleston, stay at the Francis Marion. P.S. they have a texting service that I've never seen before. Where you can text anything you need and it was promptly replied to by someone not an automated system.

Hours are 11-6 Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday 12-5 If you are looking for a specific type of suit, this is where you go. From the frilly mother of the bride/groom dresses/suits to the staunch white church lady suits. The staff here are so gracious and kind.

I can see why this restaurant gets the reviews. After several failed attempts to make a reservation, we decided to show up at Scales 925. The restaurant is beautiful. When I walked in, i was immediately overwhelmed by how gorgeous the location is. We arrived and had a 45-1 hour wait. However we were able to snag a seat on the rooftop patio, which was also very gorgeous. However, we were only able to order tapas on the patio. We waited for 10 minutes before we were given service by our waitress who walked past us a total of 4 times. She finally took our order, which was delayed again. When our food was brought out. IT WAS DELICIOUS. The wings, sooo good, the fries hand cut and amazing. We also ordered catfish nuggets that after 10 minutes and finishing our other food, never showed up. Would we visit again? Yes, but not on the patio and only if they improve the service.

The fish Tacos are to die for! The margaritas too! Although they have weird hours, Taqueria del Sol continues to be one of my favorite spots for tacos. They have incredible tacos, the wait is a bit long, but the food makes up for the wait. Go prepared to stand in line.

Party in my mouth! My 1 year old, my husband and I went to King and Duke for lunch after church. No idea it was brunch. However, the brunch was my favorite brunch. We had a reservation for 1:45 but there was plenty of room. We ordered drinks. And they were amazing. The seasonal salad. Dressed perfectly. I had the steak and eggs and he had the burger. Just the right char on the steak. We also had the house doughnuts. Oh my gahhh. I will say that brunch here is a hidden jewel. We will visit again. The server was very attentive.

The food is good, the space, not so much. Cramped in a corner on a Saturday mid morning, my husband and I enjoyed brunch. Although the space is tight. The service is at best sub par. (We sat and waited 30 minutes for a reservation) the food is sublime. Will visit again, but not at a peak time!

I would have loved to have given this 4 or 5 stars, but my food was subpar. My husband had the pork sandwich which he loved. i had the brisket which was dry and less than stellar. The fries were amazing as well as the dipping sauce. There weren't many choices for someone like me who looks for a healthier option.
