EPOD: Volcán de Fuego at Night
The photo above shows Guatemala's Volcán de Fuego, in silhouette, as observed on the night of December 20, 2014. Fuego (12,346 ft or 3,763 m), one of the most active volcanoes in Central America, erupted on this clear starry night; a plume of flame, ash and smoke undulates on westward winds toward Guatemala's less fiery stratovolcanoes. Note the light pollution behind Fuego from Guatemala City and other urban areas.
