Beach or Prom+Bench Saturday curated by +Rainer M. Ritz#benchsaturday+Stone Saturday curated by +Jen Baptist+Antoine Berger#StoneSaturday#ukpcphoto (South East) :- Believe it or not this is not a section of the beach but is actually Brighton & Hove promenade. A few weeks ago Britain got hit by a series of storms and the West and South coasts got seriously battered by high winds and equally high seas. I have lived in Brighton my entire life and have never seen the beach invade the promenade like this. The railings are built up on the sea wall so there's normally a good 1.5 meters (approx) drop down to the beach from the wall. This time I was able to simply step over the rails and take the shot. It wakes you up to the staggering power of nature when an entire beach is picked up and moved to where it shouldn't be. The bench gives you an indication of the depth of pebbles on the prom.
We just went to eat at the hotel, we didn't stay at the camp site.
The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Even the kids menu portions were big enough for adults to steal a bit. So good, we went twice in the same week.
