Is fun part of your business plan?

Advances in automation will create an enormous increase in productivity and wealth, and potentially, a world where that wealth is unavailable to the majority of the world’s population. However, properly applied, these same advances could lift a significant percent of the world’s population out of poverty

Clinical trials found that adding lots of nuts to one’s diet had a limited effect on body weight. But more important, participants in studies that included nuts in a weight-loss regimen lost more weight and ended up with a smaller waist and less body fat than participants who did not eat nuts.
A series of studies found that the more nuts people consumed, the less likely they were to die at any given age, across classes and ethnic groups.

Capitalism may be the greatest engine of prosperity ever devised. But it requires taking a long view to really deliver.
The world economy needs bold investments: $57tn in the next 15 years on infrastructure alone, according to the McKinsey Global Institute. Yet, for a typical large road project in the US, it takes more than six years to get through permitting and

Were inventors and discoverers business pioneers? Should we regard Alexander Fleming as a pioneer because his discovery of penicillin led to the development of the worldwide business of antibiotics? What of Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the worldwide web?
How do we define a business pioneer? This was the first question the six judges — three Financial Times columnists and three outside specialists — had to settle, before we began sifting the suggestions from FT readers and journalists. Were inventors
