Suits + art
A Boston Blazer x JLG is a three-part collaborative project between myself and Jordan Lane Gilmore, one of our go-to models who has a killer creative bend of his own. For the first piece of this project, we were graciously hosted by Boston's iconic Museum of Fine arts to shoot a look book that showcases our favorite spring suiting looks. All suits in this shoot were designed and created by Blank Label for their S/S 2015 line. Tie by ...

Store Profile: Townpool Nantucket's Boston Popup Shop. Written by: +PJ Farrenkopf
As someone who was lucky enough to spend just about every one of my summers on Nantucket growing up, suffice to say, I was thrilled when Townpool Nantucket opened a pop-up shop at Faneuil Hall for the Christmas rush. For those unfamiliar with Townpool, besides an absolutely killer Instagram, Townpool  is a small clothing and lifestyle shop that opened on Old South Wharf in Nantucket last season, showcasing up and coming brands like Ch...

New blog post: Store profile of Papa Wolf Supply Co.
Hidden away in a mill down a few back roads in Dover, New Hampshire is one of New England’s best kept menswear secrets, Papa Wolf Supply Co. These guys only jumped into the fray earlier this summer, but have already made a name for themselves with a killer Instagram and an grungier angle on hard goods and clothing alike. Run by two friends with a penchant for quality design, Rian and Ian, Papa Wolf Supply Co. offers an edgier take on...

The Top Five Suit Rules You Need to Know
Purchasing and wearing a suit can be an intimidating experience. Sure, it's easy to wear the one that you've had for years, but if you're anything like me, you look to the big screen and see guys like Daniel Craig and Jude Law just killing it in a sharp suit and want to make your way into those leagues. However, it seems that no matter where you go, the guy selling you your next suit off-the-rack tells you that you look great, even i...

Red carpet to Main Street, it seems like every guy has a beard. Whether it’s a 5 o’clock shadow, a close crop, or a full out beard; they’re popping up on faces across the country. Sure you can grow hair on your face, most guys can, but can you grow a beard worthy of envy? A beard that will stop men and woman in their tracks? A beard that makes babies (and grown men) cry? Answer no to any of the above? Keep reading. You’re in the right ...

For every stylish guy pulling off a fedora well there’s a gang of them that look awkward, uncomfortable or downright bad. Given how flawlessly characters like Roger Sterling and Don Draper wear them through every season of Mad Men, you’d think it would be easy, but not necessarily so. I’m not a hat wearer myself (the double XL size of my head doesn’t exactly help), so I brought in my friend Justin Power from Pioneer Goods to provide ...

Our latest #PortraitInStyle goes to +Theophilus London - rapper, producer and all around sartorial wild card.

Read the full article here: http://abostonblazer.com/blog/a-portrait-in-style-theophilus-london-hip-hop-artist
You might not know who he is, but in the Hip Hop scene, Theophilus London is a name to be reckoned with. To provide some context for his popularity, Kayne just produced his latest album and broke his own self-enforced “I don’t do features” rule on “Can’t Stop,” the lead single from London’s latest album, Vibes. This album was released at the end of October and follows up on a few critically acclaimed efforts including Lovers Holiday a...

We're rolling out a new weekly series on +Boston Blazer - this time highlighting one standout menswear product or item each week. First up, Brothers Artisan Beard Oil - made right here in Boston.

Read it here: http://abostonblazer.com/blog/brothers-artisan-beard-oil

In their own words, “When we founds our beads longer, and our beds full, we decided it was time to bring our product to other worthy men.”
As we head into the final day of November, your “no-shave-November” beard or Movember mustache is probably just about stepping into its prime. After weeks of not trimming, grooming or styling your manly facial hair, I expect it’s about as animalistic and primal as can be. Baxter and Owen Shea, owners of B.A.O Given that timing, this felt like a good time to introduce our latest series: A Boston Blazer’s “Product of the Week.” This s...

This week's #PortraitInStyle goes to Glenn O'Brien - #GQ's resident Style Guy and all around sartorial king.

Read up why we picked him here: http://abostonblazer.com/blog/a-portrait-in-style-glenn-obrien-style-guy-at-gq-magazine
For years I’ve only known Glen O’Brien has GQ’s eponymous Style Guy – dishing out sartorial advice to the masses that generally boils down to “do what you feel is right for you but do it well.” Accompanied by some fantastic, yet slightly abstract, artwork, Glen’s advice has informed thousands of young men to aspire to be better dressed and better suited to tackle the intricacies of modern chivalry.
