As Rep. Michele Bachmann leaves Congress, we can look back fondly on the glory days of her presidential campaign.

Remember her promise of two-dollar gasoline? Her rival Newt Gingrich promised two-fifty a gallon, but Ms. Bachmann went even further: if elected, she said, she would get gas prices below two dollars.

The nation was not convinced, and reëlected Barack Obama instead. Now, halfway through the term, we have gas for less than two dollars per gallon. Ms. Bachmann proudly posed in front of a sign and posted the photo to Twitter.

So, Ms. Bachmann apparently believes one of two things:

1. Gas prices would have fallen anyway, and thus her promise was meaningless; or

2. President Obama has achieved her measure of presidential success.

From the smile on her face, I’m guessing it’s the second option.

Let’s review the second-term record again. Mitt Romney promised that if we elected him, he would get unemployment down to 6% by the end of his first term, and that if we reëlected Barack Obama, we would stay at 8%. Here we are, with Obama as president, and unemployment is at 6% more than two years ahead of Mr. Romney’s schedule.

Tim Pawlenty said that he, or another Republican president, could get GDP growth up to 5%. Here we are, halfway through the term, and President Obama has GDP growth up to 5%.

Newt Gingrich said he would get gas prices below two-fifty per gallon; Michele Bachmann promised two dollars. And here we are.

Why don’t Republicans love this guy? He’s a success by their own measure.

Had to create a satirical advertisement for one of my classes last night. Here's what I came up with: the Samsung Galaxy Glide. Gimmicks galore.

Remember, it's satire--just a joke. I mean well!

Scouting is my life and my life is scouting. Here's what it looked like with 40,000+ scouts in one place for the 2013 National Jamboree. #iheartred

TL;DR Does anybody have any recommendations for some good project management apps?

I have been put in charge of planning a portion of a large event a few months from now. Soon, I will begin the process of planning for this event. That said, I am looking to try out some new methods of project management to stay on track. Does anybody have any recommendations for some good project management apps for this purpose? I have deadlines to meet, and I would like to keep track of those while also consolidating notes, ideas, and files. This might be asking a little too much for an app, but any recommendations are welcome and will be considered. I do like form AND function going hand-in-hand, and lean towards apps with beautiful interfaces.

Photographed the interior of Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago yesterday. Last night I processed them with the intent to deliver as much color as possible. Let me know what you think!
