I will post some new every Tuesday!  Let me know if you have questions. J
Conventional wisdom on the forums is that you Must use apertures of f1.2, f1.4, or at least f2.8 to get good Bokeh.  Well, yes, using those apertures will yield great Bokeh when conditions are right. But, these same Bokeh fan...

This is an amazing project with an incredible range of uses. Seriously, if anyone is thinking about projected augmented reality or even near-eye virtual reality, check this out.

This is it!  The big sprint to the end.  We've added tons of perks that you've asked for!  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/technicalillusions/castar-the-most-versatile-ar-and-vr-system/posts/661964

So, I decided to try something different for my latest YouTube video (to be posted soon)... it may or may not have been a bit overkill.

I figured that this might make more sense as a #photography blog post... also, I still have a blog.

You recall that super secret #photography  project that I was going on about last weekend? Well, here's the result: a six image series that I've titled Fire Blossoms. These flowers were actually on fire--Photoshop was only used for cropping, some touch up work, and a bit of color manipulation on a few of the images.

The series could be seen as an exploration of one entity giving life to another through consumption. However as each photograph's title suggests, the relationship can appear more complex than that with each ignition seeming to develop a personality of its own that's reflected in its form. Alternately, it's a collection of neat looking burning flowers.

I'm considering making prints available for order and have begun investigating my production options, costs, distribution methods, etc... So if this is something that you guys would like to see happen, then let me know and I'll press on to come up with all of the necessary details.

Supplies for an upcoming photo project involving fire, plants, and no firetrucks... definitely no firetrucks.

For those wondering, the hand sanitizer is basically 65% ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and water in a controllable gel form.

Just realized that I was being an idiot...  Jim wasn't talking about the D5 Vario (MCP655), he was talking about the PWM version of the D5 that I had completely forgotten Swiftech started selling. If he checks the pump's tach output and it's around 4600-4800RPM, then he's running at full speed and what he's seeing in the reservoir is the result of the pressure drop incurred by his loop. The thing that bugs me about the 655-PWM is that, IIRC, the failure state if no PWM input is detected is 60% power (~3k RPM).

Alex, good informative video!  Solves the lack of features on cheap studio triggers---cheaply!

After over a month of waiting, the new couch that we special ordered finally arrived today... granted, the wait wasn't nearly as bad as what was originally quoted (~2.5-3 months).

It looks better than I expected it to, which is good considering that I never want to buy a couch again given how much this one cost.

+Mathew Clark Thanks! Margaret is really happy with this couch because her feet actually touch the floor... not a particularly common feature of furniture.
