An excellent effort by Arun Gupta for the next generation of developers. If you have time to contribute your Java knowledge, I encourage you to chip in!
"As some of you know I'm involved with Devoxx4Kids effort and driving the efforts in USA. We are seeing wonderful response in the Bay Area and workshops sell out in a few hours. I'm also working with some other cities to open a local chapter. We've conducted workshops on Internet of Things, several Minecraft modding, and planning on Mathbreakers, NAO, Scratch, Python, and many more.
One of the missing and most asked workshop is on basic Java Programming targeted at elementary/middle school kids. All #Devoxx4Kids
material is on github at:https://github.com/devoxx4kids/materials
I started building a structure for how the Java programming workshop and a preview is available at:http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/devoxx4kids/materials/blob/master/workshops/java/java.html
I can build this workshop alone but it'll take me a few weeks to build it with tons of other activities going around. And moreover its not in the spirit of collaboration and fun.
Can I ask you to send a pull request for a section/chapter of your choice ?
And if plenty of you are sending pull requests, then we can definitely grow the lab content and add lot more advanced concepts. This material will of course be used by all Devoxx4Kids chapter worldwide, and possibly get translated too.
IMHO this will be one of the nicest gifts we can give to our young
(written in AsciiDoc, of course)
