Paying polluters to stop polluting is the dumbest idea going and won't result in the reduction in carbon pollution we desperately need to have to stop runaway climate change
Abbott government awards emissions reduction contracts worth $660.4m, but Climate Institute says first auction shows policy will fall short of stated goals

No modelling and no clue.

Telstra stores terabytes worth of customer metadata on every customer for a short period of time and sometimes hands it over to law-enforcement and spies. But it won't give it to me.

It's truly sad and criminal, in my humble opinion, that we have governments destroying a truly globally significant piece of world heritage and natural beauty.
Scientists warn the government’s strategy is likely to prove ineffectual as ‘unless Australia cuts back on carbon dioxide emissions we won’t have much of a Great Barrier Reef left’

Lest we forget the Frontier Wars in Australia
This article originally appeared on The Conversation.   Tasmania's Black War (1824-31) was the most intense frontier conflict in Australia's history. It was a clash between the most culturally and technologically dissimilar humans to have ever come into contact. At stake was nothing less than control of the country, and the survival of a people.

Yep the real story in town was absolutely missed!
Earlier this morning, the nation’s breakfast hosts assembled on the lawns of Parliament House, expecting an uninterrupted broadcast of the day’s top story. The fate of Tony Abbott, not only the Prime Minister, but also the self-appointed ‘Prime Minister for Indigenous Affairs’ attracted the likes of Karl Stefanovic, Lisa Wilkinson, David Koch, Samantha Armytage and ‘that guy from Channel Ten’ (Hugh Rimington), all broadcasting alongside each othe...

Thousands of potentially deadly illnesses may go undetected until they are well advanced because of the Federal Government’s $7 co-payment for diagnostic imaging services and other Budget measures, it has been claimed.

Introduction

I consider myself to be a rather straight forward kind of person. I mostly spend my time involved in politics whether at a local, state, national or international level. There are many things that can be done in the world and all of it relies on the politic at the time. I do have other hobbies than just politics.

I do enjoy visiting museums and galleries with the Australian Centre for the Moving Image usually a great place to visit. If you haven’t seen Victoria’s Parliament House then you should get down there and watch from the public galleries and/or take the tour. It’s an impressive old building with much history associated with it. Although I do make an effort to try to check out the Parliament Houses around Australia.
