*Fun #stats hound. The 80/20 Principle in action:*

"...The average Starbucks customer visits the store 6 times per month while a loyal 20% of customers go to the stores 16 times per month."

Keep in mind that the top 20% are factoring into the overall average, so if you took them back out, the average for the bottom 80% is likely something like 2-3 times/month. Being 4x as many, they might only account for a total of e.g. (4 * 2) / (16 + 8) = 1/3 of visits, while the top 20% account for the other 2/3!

Keep in mind that the Pareto Principle ("80/20") does not predict exact rates (though they do average out to around 80/20 over many examples in aggregate), only that there will be a strong imbalance away from the more intuitively expected 50/50 relative equality (that any 20% of customers would contribute about 20% of visits in this example).
