Finally it is out! Of all my publications this was the toughest one. By far. But at the same time it is the work I am most happy with.

We have decided to write the story up in 2013. Since then we have sent back and forth a few thousand emails, had some face-to-face meetings, spent many nights in front of our computers, discussed many hours on skype, had supercomputers run for countless hours, and also did some more experiments.

Was it all worth it? In terms of efficiency probably not, but I am really happy with the result, we have developed such a detailed understanding of a chemical reaction, and it turned out to be a really nice complete story. Would I do it again? Yes! - If it is necessary :)

Thanks to everyone who was involved and made this work possible - Alejandro Pérez Paz, Sebastian Wickenburg, Hsin-Zon Tsai, Dimas G. De Oteyza, Aaron J. Bradley, Miguel M. Ugeda, Patrick Gorman, Han Sae Jung, Michael F. Crommie, Angel Rubio, Felix R. Fischer.
