Zurich Panorama - Burghalden
I found this very nice spot in the middle of a small wine yard very close to Zurich. I was not so lucky with the weather, as clouds covered the scene, but I will definitely come back for some more sessions.

This is a smaller GigaPan shot made of 30 x 3-Bracket shots (totally 90 images). The total resolution is 95MP.

Camera: Fuji X-Pro1, Lens: XF 56mm, f/8, ISO 200

Zooming works quit well on G+, however full fun is here:

Supporting Equipment: GigaPan Epic Pro mounted on a tripod from Really Right Stuff.

Wettbewerbsverzerrung? Die Tabelle FC Bayern bereinigt!
So würde das Tabellenende vor dem letzen Spieltag, ohne die Spiele gegen den FC Bayern aussehen.

Zurich - welcome to GigaPanos
This photo shows Zurich from the Quaibruecke (Quai Bridge). The original image was build from 286 photos in 16 MB resolution, resulting in a total resolution of 2.14 Gigapixels. Yes, GIGAPIXELS! The format of this panorama is set to a ratio of 3:1, which represents a standard format for panorama prints. Due to upload limitations of G+, I had to reduce the size to 100 Megapixels.

When creating Gigapixel images, you hit the limitations of post processing software (maximum resolution of Adobe Lightroom is 512 Megapixels). So for the original 2.14 GP full resolution image, I could not do any post processing. I had to reduce the size to stay within the limits of Adobe. At 492 Megapixels, it is still very nice to play with the image and to zoom around to discover and explore some tiny little details. Try it here:  http://www.gigapan.com/gigapans/173000

I am into Panos - BIG ones!
I got a nice toy (GigaPan Epic Pro) and use it with 3rd party stitching software (Kolor Autopano Giga). I don't know how long the website of GigaPan will remain open as it looks like GigaPan went out of business... But I still will be able to use the robotic unit for creating high resolution panoramic prints in the future.

OK, this is my very first try and I hope you like it. The image is shot from the Quaibruecke in Zurich and is composed from 286 single 16 MB photos (I did not use bracketing yet). The camera used was a Fuji X-Pro1 in combination of a 55-200 mm lens @ 200 mm (equals 300 mm in 35 mm full frame format). The resolution of the final image is 2.14 GP (yes, you got it right: GIGAPIXEL). Anyone around for playing the sensor size game? ;-)

I will get a 400 mm lens early next year (equals 600 mm full frame) in combination with the new X-Pro2 24 MP, to go even bigger. But I believe that this would require to upgrade my computer. More and faster CPU cores, much more RAM...

I run into the limits of Adobe and all kinds of file formats. Did you know that Lightroom only supports files with a maximum resolution of 65K pixels per side or 512 megapixels (whatever limit hits first)? The 8-bit compressed TIFF file is already 2.72 GB in size! The .kor file I uploaded to GigaPan was almost 8 GB. Holy moly... So I hope you forgive me, that the photo is not perfect exposed and tweaked to the finest details. It is simply impossible with the current available tools. Hello Adobe? Anyone here?

OK, what is nice to view online in gigapixel format (just to push the boundaries to see what is possible), I plan to do in more moderate sizes for prints on acrylic glass. I guess for a 100 x 300 cm print I only need about 30 photos and 200 MP. This can then be post processed without any issues in high quality. I will share my "ready to print" work soon. Developing story...
I think this is how such a topic is called on CNN, not? Posted back in 2014, this request is still a valid option. What do you think?

Here my request for the German Football Association (in German):

Let's see if my Lee's seven5 filter system is working on this lens without cropping. On my 12mm Rokinon lens, the frames of the Lee filter holder is clearly visible :-(

Introduction
I live in a small city in Switzerland, right next-door to Zurich. I am German, but born and grown up in Switzerland. Photography is my passion and you can find my portfolio introduction here: alexreuschphotos.com

Beside photography, I'm into:
  • football (talking about it)
  • motorcycles (love my MONSTER)
  • electronic gadgets
  • music (love my Piega's)
  • weird movies
  • go nuts about F1 (go Sauber!)
I am very passionate about almost everything I do.
And yes, I also love my work. :-)

Even if the infrastructure is good, the most upset thing is, that you can buy your tickets online, but then still have to queue up in the normal line to exchange your online ticket. That's the most retarded thing I have ever seen and totally kills the value of buying your tickets online. Maybe someone of the actual century should explain them the idea of buying tickets online. And on the weekends, the queue is very loooooong.

We have been in Signal de Bougy and due to stormy weather, the parc needed to close during our stay. But we could switch to the parc in Aigle using the same tickets. So we could see and experience both parcs at the price of one. That was really generous and really fair behavior of parc aventure! Both parcs are worth a visit. Really a fun experience and the security is outstanding!

Small menu but good quality food. And of course there is the beer... well, it has its own brewery. It's a nice place for having lunch. Service is great!
