Lower North Falls, Silver Falls State Park, Oregon. North Silver Creek produces the falls as it rumbles down a 30-foot tall dome-shaped protrusion of basalt and forms a large pool at its base. I used the new HDR in Lightroom CC for this as the waterfall was so much brighter than the rest of the scene.

Brown Pelicans hanging out at Bandon, Oregon Coast.... Arriving in spring, these gregarious seabirds can be seen on the Oregon coast, flying low over the waves or propelling themselves into the sea in pursuit of fish. They have a wingspan stretching up to eight feet and weigh in at 6-12 pounds

Coquille Lighthouse, Bandon, Oregon. Originally named Bandon Light, it was lit on February 29, 1896, the light guided mariners past the dangerous shifting sandbars into the Coquille River and harbor at Bandon. In September 1936, a large wildfire swept through the surrounding area, and destroyed most of Bandon. The town soon became bankrupt as a result of the decline in shipping. Coquille Light was shut down in 1939 and replaced by an automated light on the south jetty. In 2011 it was painted, but is not an active lighthouse. I used off camera flash to light the foreground.

Amazing sunrise today... at home on the Camas Swale, near Eugene, Oregon. This is the sunrise one would expect during the smoky fire season.  Today it was just from moisture in the atmosphere as there are no fires now. I can't explain the red rim around the sun--maybe it's due to camera lens chromatic aberration, or maybe it's just the way the sun is.  I didn't add saturation, only contrast to the photo.
