My migration plans

I'm not going anywhere, for the time being. 10 months is quite a long time. I intend to keep posting as normal, mostly in my collection "The Four Color Theorem".

I will be looking for a replacement. The main thing I use google plus for now is note taking for creative projects, so that is what I will be looking for. Collections with control over who can see the contents are essential. Higher order tools for organizing collections, like colors and images, are good. I would like even more, like being able to group collections. I may consider building my own version of collections.

I'm not very interested in social stuff, though it has been nice to discuss ideas with the fine people on here. I have gotten a lot of good debate and fleshed out ideas more. I'll probably just go wherever +Lev Osherovich goes.

Getting rid of the extra 500 lines of output is my next task. But I have a new build of my site using next.js

I was indulging in vanity and rereading an old blog, when I encountered these sentences:

Looking at these graphs feels a lot like looking at a graph of dependencies in a codebase. If you add a node for each className, and draw and edge between the classNamees that communicate, you'll end up with a graph like the ones above.

That doesn't make sense. I recently changed the way I build my personal blog by using next.js to compile a bunch of React components to html at build time. It makes me a lot more productive at organizing and experimenting with the code because it gives me a set of named components to move around.

Speaking of which, I need to push that code to github.

But at any rate, in react you can't do something like <div class="foo" because class is a reserved word. So you have to convert all the old html you had to className. No problem, that's a simple sed command.

...

oh.
