Surprise surprise. The article mentions Apple as a walled garden so Gruber got defensive. This is the same guy who didn't even mention SOPA at all on his blog while the rest of the internet was banding together because Apple wasn't out against it.

He cares about his 300k a year that comes from advertising due to his staunch Apple fanboy-ism, so he defends that stance above all other things.
