I'd never tried reading Claymore, but you've convinced me to pick it up! And anything by Louisa May Alcott will get on my list, though I seem to not be seeing your final creepy meter for that one. :)

Nice fan art! You have some skill.

Great selection of quotes and cherished moments from the story. I really need to read the series again soon.

That an interesting break in schools of thought, though I get it. I suppose once one book or game or cultural understanding sets up a functioning world, other authors can come along and use the commonplace framework to harken back to what is already enjoyed (not reinventing the wheel) and instead giving a new cast the keys to the playground. Sword & Sorcery, Paranormal Romance, and Detective Noir are all good examples of novels that exist within a premade framework, but still have wildly different takes on the players within. Great post!

There must be a hard, private battle going on in your life right now, Stuart. I know things are hard, and they seem to compound for you daily. Shed what you can, cherish what you can not, and may the tides of your fortune change swiftly.

Excellent post, Briane. I'm sorry I'm only getting to it now. Salient points, well-argued. Also, I'm going to get my copy of Codes, now. You'll be happy to know your publisher emailed me directly to let me know when it got released. :)

I hadn't heard about the earthquake until I read this poem, Stuart. How awful. It brought tears to my eyes.
