How do you Squeeze a Robot through a tiny Crack?

Our fear and disgust that cockroaches can quickly squeeze through the tiniest cracks are well justified, say University of California, Berkeley scientists.

Schrödinger’s Pigeons

Schrödinger lost his cat and turned his attention to pigeons. Can you place three pigeons into two pigeonholes?

via +Jennifer Ouellette

For decades, Schrödinger’s famous thought experiment involving a cat has been the turn-to illustration of quantum mechanics. But now there’s a new quantum puzzle, which asks: Can three pigeons be placed into two pigeonholes with no two pigeons being in the same hole?

Religious children are found to be more selfish

Children without any religious upbringing are more altruistic than those with one.

Think twice before indoctrinating your kids.

Cancer cells prefer to travel in groups, and turn on a molecular program that helps them travel through a diverse set of environments within the body.

Because most chemotherapeutic drugs target proliferating cells, metastasizing cells won’t be killed by them, leaving patients vulnerable to new tumors.

There's safety in numbers. That's apparently true even for cancer cells that prefer to travel in groups to establish metastatic tumors elsewhere.

Sparkling Black is very nice. Food is reasonably good. Place is small and tables are tiny. It is a good cafe with sound dining options, but don't treat it like a restaurant.
