Why did you take it down? Besides the fact that it had a 4S part number on the back.
HTC did license Apple's patents, so it could look like an iPhone if they wanted it to.
No they couldn't, because Apple doesn't license its design patents. And the agreement with HTC specifically forbids them from "cloning" Apple products. 
And there are clauses that prevent outright copies and clones. 
So, what did they get?  Scroll bounce, hyperlinked telephone numbers and addresses in emails and text messages, on device search, anything else?
This is a very good send up. HTC have style and will show us an object of desire soon enough
