STATEMENT FROM AEREO CEO AND FOUNDER CHET KANOJIA ON UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT DECISION. Court decision denies consumers the ability to use a cloud-based antenna to access free over-the-air television, further eliminating choice and competition in the television marketplace ...

The Supreme Court decision in the aero case is quite troubling. Because one area that people (and the defendants advisors) did not take into consideration, was some of the intent of some regulations of the FCC governing the reasons from forcing broadcast providers from producing analog signals to digital.

One such regulation specifically makes open over the air digital broadcasts freely available to consumers.

Because Aero chose to put a paid service against the collection of open air broadcast signals, that was the main reason for this verdict.

However....

Had the court been advised PROPERLY, they would have ruled that Aero only had to ceast selling the DVR service. If all they were selling was a new antenna array, this court case would never have come to light.

Too bad!

Because consumers NEED an alternative to 150 - 200 dollar a month cable and satellite service.

It's also funny how satellite providers also are not barred from selling it's service in a similar fashion. At the end of the day, they too are a open air antenna system as well.

Don't get me wrong... I feel bad that Aereo is having a hard time going live in the Chicago market.   But, as a beta user who was originally offered 3 free months...
Then, had another 3 free months given...
And, just today, yet another 6 free months, I'm good!

Right, Amazon Prime streaming wasn't available on android (other than their forked Fire Tablets IIRC).

Has nothing to do with  Roku; I suspect OP was just excited as the pic suggests.

We've recently (June 19th) cut the cord.  Only thing that we will miss is Chicago Blackhawks' NHL games.

We own a Roku XS.

Has anyone tried Hockey Streams?   NHL Center Ice?  Both?   What did you like / dislike?

Finally, we're considering the combination of NHL Center Ice & Unblock-Us in order to avoid local broadcast blackouts.  Can anyone recommend a better  / cheaper service for avoiding blackouts?

Thank you all for your input.  We have opted for Hockey Streams!
One question to the Hockey Streams users... when streaming through my phone, the picture is HD.  However, when streaming through our Roku, it seems to flip from HD to SD & remains SD.

Aside from simply trying other HS servers at random, are there any tips for acquiring HD via Roku & having it remain HD for the entire game?   For example, should I start watching the game X number of minutes after its started?

FWIW, I've also noticed that when streaming on-demand games from HS, the same condition occurs (starts in HD, then, flips to SD & remains SD).

THANKS!
