Happy Pi Day (and Einstein's birthday as well)!
This very special Pi Day occurs only once per century so we might consider ourselves lucky to witness it. ;)
Btw. this year also marks 100 years since the publication of general theory of relativity.

This summer I took an internship in Centrum Intensywnej Rehabilitacji Dzieci i Dorosłych in Olsztyn, where I had to deal with physical rehabilitation of children with various forms of cerebral palsy. I had the opportunity to meet the brave patients who are struggling with symptoms of the disease. Through this experience I learned the currently used techniques of rehabilitation, and problems that occur during the rehabilitation process. For children with cerebral palsy, in addition to many simple (but utterly important) physical exercises, various accessories are used, such as TheraSuit or TheraTogs suits, which are used to normalize muscle tone and improve posture.
In the case of such young patients, a major problem is their commitment to the performed exercises. Difficult, tedious and boring exercises are often reluctant to accept, while are necessary for proper movement development. Another issue is limited capabilities of a therapists. Exercises require physiotherapist's full attention on one person because the exercise program and its course strongly depend on personal conditionings of the patient, and these include a wide spectrum of symptoms associated with cerebral palsy. It is worth reflecting on ways of improving this situation -- for the good of patients and therapists.
The photos present Faust, who came all the way from Lithuania to participate in a 3-week intensive rehabilitation.
