Salamat to the "Bantay Gubat" (Forest Guards) in Central Panay for allowing me to design their t-shirt for them. They needed a design that incorporated the "Big 5", 5 endangered Philippine-only species that you can find on Panay.

On the design from top to bottom: The Dulungan (has a head that looks like a red axe), the Visayan Warty Pig (has a mohawk), the Mabitang (the world's only "vegetarian" monitor lizard), the Visayan Spotted Deer (Bisdak ng Bambi), and the Rafflesia (flowers as big as your face and smell like dead people). Philippine animals are so cool.

Salamat to community organizers and site action team members Ruth Condeno Martinez, Nove Calawigan, & Noel Resurreccion sa inyong tulong!

Updating my deviantART. Here's one of the most randomest things I've ever made. An animated gif of an MRT train, a jeepney, and oh, see if you can find Vice Ganda! http://filipeanuts.deviantart.com/art/An-animated-gif-422335026
An animated gif featuring a MRT train, a jeepney, and Vice Ganda somewhere in there.

My first year at Haribon & the 6 accomplishments I’m most proud of.

This particular project was not part of Haribon. Teach for the Philippines is another NGO working toward uplifting public school communities by connecting them with new teachers from “outside the box” in many ways, particular young people from some of the top schools in the country.

The Negros Scops Owl (Otus nigrorum) was formerly classified as a subspecies of Philippine Scops Owl. They live alone or in monogamous pairs which breed throughout the year. They can only be found on the Philippine island of Negros.

Made this logo for a hospital publication in Bacolod, Negros, Philippines.

A group of community members have been deputized to become forest guards, or part of "Bantay Gubat", on Panay island. Was happy to make their shirt design for them:

Hallmark? Nah, Haribon! (And 3 things I learned as a designer).
Last month I was asked to come up with new designs for “e-cards” in our adopt-a-seedling campaign. It was pretty tough. I've never designed Christmas cards before. I'm also more of a graphic designer who works with fonts and colors and not a holiday card illustrator. One of Haribon's on-going ...

Introduction
"I've never felt I belonged anywhere. And I still don't where I am today. But for the first time ever in my life I feel this is where I need to stay."

"I am a time traveler, destroying today's regrets. Changing my future."

"Things won't be better tomorrow. One mustn't wait for a brighter day. It is you who must work to fight the sorrows. It is you who must shine today."

"The fact that a majority of people know something that is false, doesn't make it true."

"I used to think we were born weak & empty like cups waiting to be filled. In reality we're already born filled to the brim with life, emptying ourselves until the very end."

"Maintain the habit of taking less than we think we need, and giving more than we think we should give."

"Bisag gamay, basta kanunay." (Boholano proverb: Regardless of how small, do so always.)

"No trabáho, gulpién, no kanén, in-inúten." (Ilokano proverb: If it's work, do it fast. If it's food, eat it little by little.)

"Ti táo a manákem, dína makíta ti panagdissó ti sakána ití dagá. Kitáenna ketdi ti sumarunó a baddekánna." (Ilokano proverb: A wise man doesn't see his foot on the ground, he watches his next step.)

"The only acceptance you should search for is that of your own."

"The road to gold is not paved with it."

"Instead of trying to be rich and giving a small amount to the community, let's make the community rich and give ourselves a small amount."

"Making a living and making a difference should be the same thing."

"Get in where you fit in, and then break the mold."

"Live better lives than those before us, and leave behind a better life for those to come."

"Gain it fast, lose it fast. Gain it slow, lose it slow."

"I'd rather make mistakes doing what I love, than be perfect at what I hate."

"If you want a crowd to hear you, you must step outside it.
"

"I can't change the Philippines, but I can change the way you look at her. I don't want to die for the Philippines, but I do want to live for her."

"Imagine the future we dream of to the extent that it is as sure, and real, as the past before us. So that every action we make isn't work toward an elusive dream, but rather a preparation for the inevitable."

"It doesn't matter what you have, what matters is how you use it."

"Do you see drops of water splashing against the rock, or a laser cutting through it in slow motion?"

"If you want everything, you'll get nothing. If you want nothing, you're on to something!"

"Your struggle might be different from mine, but the fact that we are both struggling is a reminder that we are the same."

"We weren't made to adapt. We were made to make."

"I might not be smart, but if there is one thing I know, it is to listen. I've found that I can easily improve myself by simply shutting up."

"We need more young Filipinos engaging in exporting unique Philippine-made products and services rather than exporting themselves. And we need more foreign-born and overseas immigrant Filipinos sending themselves to the Philippines instead of their remittances. To me that is true Filipino pride."

"Serve others and you will be loved. Love others and everyone is served."

"Since the world is merely the collective perceptions of all the human beings alive at the present moment, you don't have to change the world. Only these very perceptions."

"World peace? That's when we fight for the rights of others instead of our own."

"Selfishly solve your own problem. Then selflessly give away your solution."

"Emotion drives, logic decides."

"Average people spend time to make money. Happy people spend money to make time."

"Never diss, just dismiss."

"Wait it happen or make it happen."

"Saints were at one point sinners who were forgiven. Criminals were at one point saints who were betrayed."

"Walay labot ug hinay imong lakaw. Basta di ka mo hunong."

"There are no Pilipino words for 'he' and 'she'. If our words don't divide sexuality, then why do we?"

"They say Filipinos are divided. So let us find the glue. They say Filipinos are all about 'me'. Then maybe what we need is you."

"Make your best attempt. All society has to do is see that it is possible, and they themselves will partake in the change you want to see. Although you may not be around when the change is made, your reward is in the everyday you do your very best to make your vision their reality."

"Perceived intelligence isn't based on how much one knows, but how one uses what they know. So don't just sit and think, stand and act. It is the only way intelligence can be seen, and mistakes derived from acting on our thoughts are the best teachers."

"No one is complaining so it must be ok" is one of the greatest lies ever told. Another big one is, "Yes, I have read and agree to the terms & conditions."
