A friend of mine was having some issues starting his os on his lap... So he called me to get some data out of his computer(really important work stuff). When I went over, I just used a version of linux that I have on my flash drive and retrieved that data... But, right next to the files that I needed to get, there were some really creepy pictures of him doing some really weird stuff, which made me remember a very important topic, SECURITY.
We all have stuff to hide, whether it be some work documents, or pictures of yourself doing some creepy stuff, setting a password to access your computer isn't enough, you HAVE to encrypt that data.
I've been using TrueCrypt for a long time(it's open source and cross platform), you can encrypt your data with a password or password and key file(which you can have on your flash drive with you at all times).
It is way better to add some kind of encryption to your data, than have none...
