Whoops, looks like the BBC share links are clumping everything within 1 minute together (understandably there's quite a bit of discussion on this topic just now!).  It's the final comment from Jamie Ure that I'm intending to reshare here.

Photos from the Vienna Obsidian anomaly, courtesy of one very talented photographer.

The finale of #IngressObsidian #XMAnomaly series has been an extraordinary week-end.
In Vienna, thousands of agents from 4 continents gathered to gain strategic intel during #GoRuck missions and to capture #FlashShards .
The #Resistance won with a central "starburst" target portal – a well played strategy – collecting a total of 3640 points (325 for the #Enlightened ).

But the Austrian capital still got the visit of the Acolyte, successor of +Roland Jarvis as leader of the Enlightened, who was able to get hands on the content of the Harlan Box and to activate the #Obsidian Shield, in order to protect the world against the N'Zeer. This is the culmination of a long chain of events (see http://investigate.ingress.com/) to which participated, among others,+Susanna Moyer, agents +Andrea Marcolini,+Matt Stevenson and +Jaime Quinonez).

Welp, that's the country fucked now.  Despite the fact the entirety of Scotland was a majority remain vote in the EU referendum, we're still being dragged out against our will.

For interesting comparison, have a look at the similarities between this map and the map of the last general election results.

Personally, my hope is that this does trigger another independence referendum.  Hopefully then more Scottish people will want us to be able to make our own decisions.

It might just be that the Ibis can't take 4,000 Ingress players at the same time? Maybe late-comers will have to try another hotel. http://www.hostelbookers.com/ still has dorm beds from £19/night.

This is a pretty nice hotel with friendly staff, and while the rooms are admittedly a bit small as other reviewers have mentioned, it's not really an issue if you're just looking for someplace to sleep for the night. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast is pretty good (cereal/fruit/continental), and the hotel itself is located close to the city centre and about 15-20 minutes walk from Central Station. The only downside I noticed during my stay is that the walls are a bit thin, so if people are being noisy in a building across the street or guests in an adjacent room aren't so quiet, you can be kept awake by the noise. Unless you're a heavy sleeper, a pair of earplugs may come in handy.
