Google Photos Desktop  -

Is there a way to take an album that was created in Google Photos and have it sync with the Picasa desktop app.

I know that the reverse is possible. I have many albums created in Picasa that are then uploaded to Google Photos and kept in sync with each other.

I tested this out today.

1. Create Album called Anything01 in Google Photos
2. Create an Album in Picasa called Anything01.
3. Add 1 Photo to the album.
4. Sync to Web.

You should see all of the photos from the Google Photos Album download to Picasa.

I am so happy this works. Picasa is sooo much easier to manage your photos than it is in the web browser. I hope google releases a desktop client or drastically improves the photo management tools in the web version.

How do I sync a folder I created in the Picasa desktop Application with Google Photos? (You used to just toggle on "sync to web" however this now directs to a Google Plus Album that does not appear to sync with Google Photos)

I ended up just needed to update the application to a version that support Google Photos instead of Google+ Version 3.9.141 Build 259

Google Plus Naming Policy Help:

My company is using Google Apps for Gmail, Google Voice and Google Plus. We have a Technical Support account that we use to interact with our clients called "Technical Support"  this account has been suspended.

The email address is support@domain.com.
The display name for the account is Technical Support

We tried changing the name of the Technical Support account to "John Doe" in Google plus however this changed the display name on the email account as well as the name in all other Google services like Hangouts. Its also not at all representative of what the account is used for.

I have tried appealing several times with links to our website however these have been rejected. I see that there are many many other Google Plus Profiles with similar names. How were these profiles able to get around the naming convention?

What is the best way to Generic name for our Technical Support account?

+Alan Shurafa The solution for the posts is simple: share them from the Page, not a profile. I'm sure about Hangouts because I do comparatively little with them.

Google Photos and Picasa Workflow with Google Drive Questions:

I keep my photos in a folder in my Gooogle Drive called C:\GoogleDrive\Picasa.  This then uploads to Google+ Photos and eventually will be synced to C:\GoogleDrive\GooglePhotos. What is the best way to manage this so that I do not have two copies of pictures on my Google Drive?

Looking for a way to use the "read aloud" function while the screen is off.

1. What is the best way to do this?
2. Is there a way to enable controls for bluetooth controls as well?

I know there are other readers that allow this functionality however I want to be able to also easily add notes to Google Play Books easily while the book is being read.

Picasa and Google Plus Photo Sync Troubleshooting:

Looks like we have two MAJOR bugs with Picasa and Google Plus Albums.

1. Google Plus now allows you to create online albums with a limit of 2000 photos per Album (Up from a previous limit of 1000). Unfortunately after the initial upload from Picasa you get a generic error when trying to sync albums larger then 1000 photos. (The resolution is to make sure all your Google Plus albums that sync to Picasa have less than 1000 photos in them)

2. Google Awesome creates really cool photos that stitch together more than one photo of the same person. This then sometimes gets tagged with the same person multiple times. When this happens Picasa automatically turns off the sync without any type of error message. (Go through every picture in the album and remove duplicate face matches)
This post helped me troubleshoot this issue: sync to web won t stay enabled | picasaresources

I have literally spent days working these cryptic bugs out. Lets hope that Google releases an update to Picasa some time soon. Alternately I would be happy to work directly with Google Plus if it offered an option to search AND manage IPTC / XMP tags efficiently as well as a nice way to store the photos locally for backup (ideally with an option to edit them offline ala picasa :-)

is this limit still existent? I get an error in picasaweb that suggests that... although the error message is encrypted: Unknown server error 5123q23...

I have been with these guys for 3 years with three different units. Everyone I have worked with has been super professional. Their rates are amazing! They are also burner friendly. Highly recommended on all fronts.
