I'm no Luddite, mourning for the good old days. But I love movies from the 30s and 40s. This is an incredibly sharp analysis as to why they don't make movies like that anymore. Which is too damned bad, in my opinion.

As expected, it is George Lucas's fault.

From my blog: Captain America: The First Avenger is surprising in more ways than one. For one, it was really good.

For another, our hero faced conflict, but was not conflicted. And he neither blamed or credited his father for his choices.

Steve as a character was not so much flawed like Tony (alcohol) or Bruce (temper) or even Clint (pride) but that's why he was from the past .... The fact he's been locked to a time and place will in the future of the character make thing hard on him, but we have yet to see that.

I want to give Follow Friday shout outs to people I met on Google+.

My head hurts.

Eventually, social media will cause all of our heads to explode and we'll just go back to talking to people face to face.

A colorful case against e-readers and tablets. (As seen on the blog http://penelopesoasis.com.)

I do love my Kindle app. But I still can't bring myself to stop buying hard copies of books.

That is totally an awesome pic, I would love to know if they read them all, I would hate to think they just had the idea to put a color spectrum of books on a shelf and just bought anything they could with color.

I love innovation. I love new things. But sometimes, they are really, truly, horribly misguided.

The next time you want to stretch your or someone else's brand to a new place, make sure you can or should.

"What are you doing in my living room, Spider-Man?" should be a question for us all.

Thanks to +Kevin Kilduff for the share.

This is how I am starting to see social networks.

YouTube = grade school
Facebook = high school
Twitter = freshman year of college
Google+ = graduate school

Discussion, disagreements and other observations welcome.

I can't wait to 'buy these for Jack', which will become my go-to phrase for all the crap I buy that I wish had existed when I was a kid.

+Erin Feldman I would have never gone to school if these existed when I was a kid.

I have two thoughts:

Inspiration is all around us. We just have to look.
And I totally should have stolen this duck.

+Amy Montgomery-Roth I found this in your hometown. It was in my bathroom at 21c Hotel and Museum; stayed there earlier this week.
