Hey +Google, it looks like you disabled a key feature that made G+ unique. The ability to control what kind and how much content I see on my feed.

Yes, there's an option now for the communities, but why take away the feature from your Circles?

Unless I'm missing something here, but the following page is no longer applicable to me as the toggle to filter how much content you get from specific circles is no longer there.

Hello all!

It's been a while since I posted here on G+, and just to clarify things I have not abandoned the platform.

The reason for my absence has been mainly due to me having taken on a new role at work, taking up a lot of my time, and becoming a father again!

Things are settling down now, and one of the first things that I'll be doing is to clean up my network here on G+. There's going to be a massive cull in my circles in a drive to make the network here more personal to me.

Thanks for reading, and have a nice day! :)

Thanks +Nikki C! I've been quite busy! It's been frustrating not being able to really use G+ as I really love the network over all the others.

I've obliterated about over 4,000 contacts in my circles since then +Dave Kesarisingh! My feed is now almost where I want it! If only G+ would return the sliders to how much I see from each circle.

Thanks +Nic Jackson! All is good, and hopefully when things settle down, I can return fielding all those portals that have popped up since my break! Hope you're keeping well too dude! :)

FEELING ALIVE

Taken during a weekend photowalk last year. Only came round to it now. If I remember correctly, this was just beside Victoria Road near Westminster.

Yes, I tried that too! There wasn't a good balance to it. Although I might try again looking the other way (which I hadn't thought of at the time!).

Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic

Our happiest Google+ users are those who connect with others around shared interests and passions. So we set out to give people a place to express the things they love. Today, we’re announcing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic.

Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.

Posts in collections you follow will appear in your Home stream, with a link to easily jump right into the collection so you can get to similar content from that author. Collections give you a great way to find more of the stuff you love from the people you follow.

Collections is available on Android and the web, and iOS is coming later. For Android users, make sure to update your Google+ app to get access to Collections.

For inspiration on interesting topics, check out our Featured Collections page here: g.co/collections

Create your collections today and share what you love.

Glad to see MetalSucks giving this band some exposure. Their previous album had vocals that sounded like the guy from Silencer, which is like Marmite, only that 1 out of 100 people liked it.

I posted about this band several weeks ago. In case you missed it, here they are again. Prepare for a wall of sound to hit you. Oh and again, that outro. Just, beautiful.
I promise that sentence will make more sense once you read the post.

ONE NEW CHANGE LANTERNS

An impromptu visit to St. Paul's yesterday for some photography. Can't miss One New Change for the wonderful architecture, and one of the best publicly accessible views of St. Paul's Cathedral in London!

Still wondering why St. Paul's BAN photography inside.

A blast from the past, well, from last January to be precise. I decided to have another go at it. A personal favourite of mine.

BATTERSEA FROM VICTORIA

Taken when I was on my way to somewhere in the South, I think it could have been Brighton. I was told earlier that the old power station only has three of its chimneys standing at this moment!

Easily one of my favourite places to get food from in Ealing. They offer a wide variety of dishes mainly from the Chinese / Japanese / Thai / Malay circuit. Also, one of the better places to get a good serving of sushi around the area! I highly recommend the Chicken Katsu Curry (I love Japanese curry!) and their Salmon Sushi Box. The service is standard, and I honestly think that with extra training will garner them more customers! Prepare to wait for a bit if you are taking away as no one tends the take-away till often. You do get to see the cooks do their thing though! easily accessible and a perfect place to meet up considering it's literally a minute from Ealing Broadway station.

Great, warm, excellent customer service. When you have coffee by Ealing Broadway, you get it from here. Their house blend Cappuccino is fantastic! Feeling a bit peckish? They've got sandwiches and big hearty cookies amongst many others. A spacious place as well, and an atmosphere that makes you feel at ease. Yes, the Electric Coffee Company at Ealing Broadway is a highly recommended experience.

If you're going to Camden, chances are that you love your music and that it's mostly of the "not played on radio anymore" kind. All Ages Records is easily accessible from the main street and has quite a collection of records for your perusal. What I liked about the place was that there were some merch there, some of which would most likely be impossible to find even online! Great atmosphere, albeit quite smallish place (especially for a big guy like me) but it's a staple visit if I'm ever in the area. Highly recommended to those dropping by Camden Market or The Stables!

One of the very few times that I may have had a bit too much to drink, and I will have to blame the place partly for it because the service is just so spot on! I don't think I've ever been to another bar where they can serve cocktails and mojitos as fast as The Library has! A great place to have dinner first, and continue drinking (or start the bar hopping in!) as they have excellent Thai food. Prices are not bad as well compared to the other restaurants and bars alongside The Library, and the atmosphere will most likely warrant a return trip in the same evening! Easily accessible via Highbury & Islington overground or on the Victoria line, The Library is a great place to meet up and have a night out.

I rarely do three star reviews but this was originally going to be a four star one, save for a rather awkward conversation with one of their sales reps. I highly recommend John Lewis as a store, preferably to purchase goods from mostly online because of their great after-sales service. An automatic extended warranty for many of their products, and almost a no-hassle approach to returning items. This particular time I was looking for a new laptop and got talking to one of the sales reps. I was specifically looking for a Windows based machine but was urged to get a Mac instead. To cut a long story short, I essentially got face to face with an Apple fanboy and it was rather unpleasant when all my requirements for a Windows machine could be supported by running CrossOver, an extra premium on top of the already expensive option if I chose a Mac. Because of this I ended up purchasing a laptop at Dell's website. Still, the store itself is great, very easy to walk around and find things for your loved ones especially during the holidays, and most of the staff are extremely professional and helpful!

I was introduced to All Bar One when one of the regular photowalks that I join in ended up here. This particular branch (apparently there are All Bar One's all over London) has a very nice atmosphere to it, many thanks to the River Thames just outside! A great place to sample London's ales. I'm finding myself going back here to have a pint (or usually two) as it's a comfortable place to enjoy your drink. Service is not bad, but it can get crazy, and by that I mean you may find having to battle for the waitresses/bartenders attention. I highly recommend bringing friends along especially on a summer evening. It's a great place to drink, make great conversation, and potentially meet a few new people as well. Oh and when you get the chance, their Fish and Chips are delish!

When you're in London, well, specifically when you're around Leicester Square and you don't fancy having a big meal, or maybe you're looking for a nice dessert, the Haagen-Dazs ice cream shop is highly recommended! It may be that during this particular visit, I was lucky to see the actor Daniel Radcliffe walk to the cinema next door during one of those film premiers that may have amplified the experience of ice cream, but I can vividly remember that Salted Caramel + Pralines & Cream combination was particularly awesome. The staff sure know their stuff and can easily recommend a flavour by asking you an unexpected question (or two). In my case it was spot on and I really liked their recommendation. There's a lot of other items on the menu that you can only purchase at the shop and will most definitely try them the next time I'm passing by.
