Last week +Eric Schmidt posted a cartoon with a knight running a track race, to promote our upcoming book How Google Works.  In the cartoon Eric posted, the knight is wearing number 327, but in the original version the number was something different: 10^-100.  We decided to change it because we thought it was too distracting and people wouldn't get the joke.  But maybe we were wrong.  Does anyone get the joke?   (No fair Googling it!)

In our book How Google Works (with co-authors +Jonathan Rosenberg and +Eric Schmidt) we talk about creating a culture of yes.  So last week, when a buddy of mine suggested a spur-of-the-moment road trip to Denver, I had to say yes!  That's why I was hiking in Arches National Park in Utah on Monday instead of around the GooglePlex in Mt. View.

One of these is a companion that will stand by your side through good times and bad. The other is a puppy.

I’m happy to announce How Google Works, my new book with  +Jonathan Rosenberg  and +Alan Eagle. It’s your guide to business management in the Internet Century, due out on 9/23. Follow #howgoogleworks for interesting insights and fun nuggets from the book over the next few weeks!

When Madison Bumgarner finished his warm-up pitches before yesterday's game, he turned around and tossed the ball to me. Thanks, Madison!! Great game, too.

Gorgeous day at Squaw yesterday. Only Squaw Creek and Red Dog were open, but it's hard to beat the weather and views.
