There's a nice debate going on in the comment section on this one. Do animals have a sense of fairness? The consensus from commenters is "of course!" But what do you think?

In all fairness, fairness itself is in the perspective view of the culture that it is based on. 
 
In my opinion, you shouldn't put animals in cages and have them do these social research studies.  It's cruel, and besides, we already know that many animals, not just primates, exhibit a sense of fair play.  I hate humans sometimes.  All this misery to prove what?  Something we already knew.  Remember the famous "learned helplessness" experiment involving dogs?  Shame on us.
