Google has started inserting ads into some Google Home responses. Statement from Google says they're not ads, but the example in this link sure sounds like an ad.

Google's Allo app reveals the danger of including an AI bot that knows everything Google knows about you in a chat. Apparently this was just a glitch that Google claims to have already fixed, but what other glitches are there that may reveal sensitive information to others on your chat?

Happy Pi Day 2017! Pi Day snuck up on me this year so I don't have anything new prepared to celebrate the day. Instead, here's my favorite Pi creation from years past.

And for the font design geeks out there, yes I used Comic Sans. There was simply no better choice!
Happy pi day! May your life be stuffed with the lucky digits of pi!

This was my entry for STUFFED in the Autumn 2013 Chrysta Rae Scavenger Hunt.

Musings about Daylight Savings Time

1. I wish we'd just stay on Daylight time permanently. Or Standard time. Or split the difference. Pick one time and stick with it!

2. If you like your photos to have accurate time stamps, remember to change the clock in your camera. Or at least check it to see if it changes automatically.

3. A significant number of my clocks these days automatically adjust, either by being connected to the Internet or the phone network or using a built-in radio clock. Maybe it's time to start discarding old clocks so I don't have to go through this annoying and useless ritual twice a year.

4. For the clocks that don't automatically adjust, I at least like the ones that have a DST on/off setting that flips the hour forward or backward as appropriate.

5. Timers on lights should be controlled by light sensors, not time.

6. The change to Daylight time means spring is near! Yay!
