From simple voice trigger integration to contextual voice commands and various sliders, the GDK grew a lot in the last year and this is all thanks to the valuable feedback you've sent our way!

We can't thank you enough for hammering on our APIs and letting us know what cool and crazy integrations you were building :)

The wearables space is exploding and the fun doesn't stop here. Looking forward to the rest of the journey!

We’re graduating from Google[x] labs

It’s hard to believe that Glass started as little more than a scuba mask attached to a laptop. We kept on it, and when it started to come together, we began the Glass Explorer Program as a kind of “open beta” to hear what people had to say.

Explorers, we asked you to be pioneers, and you took what we started and went further than we ever could have dreamed: from the large hadron collider at CERN, to the hospital operating table; the grass of your backyard to the courts of Wimbledon; in fire stations, recording studios, kitchens, mountain tops and more.

Glass was in its infancy, and you took those very first steps and taught us how to walk. Well, we still have some work to do, but now we’re ready to put on our big kid shoes and learn how to run.

Since we first met, interest in wearables has exploded and today it’s one of the most exciting areas in technology. Glass at Work has been growing and we’re seeing incredible developments with Glass in the workplace. As we look to the road ahead, we realize that we’ve outgrown the lab and so we’re officially “graduating” from Google[x] to be our own team here at Google. We’re thrilled to be moving even more from concept to reality.

As part of this transition, we’re closing the Explorer Program so we can focus on what’s coming next. January 19 will be the last day to get the Glass Explorer Edition. In the meantime, we’re continuing to build for the future, and you’ll start to see future versions of Glass when they’re ready. (For now, no peeking.)

Thanks to all of you for believing in us and making all of this possible. Hang tight—it’s going to be an exciting ride.

Reporting on our quick trip to Angus Meat Market[1], a Korean butcher shop in Sunnyvale that I believe opened less than a year ago (according to Yelp reviews).

I was really hoping to see a butcher shop that I used to see in France, with tons of selections and cuts but have to admit I was kind of disappointed by the selection: they are mostly focusing on Korean BBQ cuts (thin and long).

The only "steak" cut that I saw a "Certified Angus Beef" Prime ribeye: the ones exposed were too thin to my taste so I asked the lady if she had anything thicker -- she asked me how thick I wanted it, went to the back and asked the butcher to cut me two pieces :)

It was a bit pricey and I was afraid the meat might have been too "fat" to my taste (I eat my steak "blue") but the flavor was actually amazing! Really good "beef" flavor that you don't get from cuts from Whole Foods or Costco. I'll definitely be going back for good quality meat in the area.

They supposedly have Snake River Farms beef as well but the only cut I saw on the counter was part of the flank. They might have had some in the freezer area but I didn't really check.

+Fox News, or should I say Fox "News", has been running a story about supposed " no go zones" in France and especially around and in Paris where non-muslims can't enter... Of course, this is complete BS and their "expert" had already apologized but it seems like they are not going to stop talking about this.

A French daily show is making fun of them and is pressuring +Fox News to stop lying. Thanks to the fans, the director of communication received no less than 20000 emails in less than 5 minutes!

I wish I could link to an official subtitled video but this one is a good summary :-)

Fox News ‘No Go Zone’ Lies Exposed In Most Wonderful Way By French TV Show: http://youtu.be/hfLf6tO7vSA

UPDATE: +Fox News has formally apologized - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF0fyXX_s2o

Next step will be to prevent apologies by doing fact checks before airing unverified information!

+Israel Knight Sorry, I don't know how I missed that part of your comment. I'm not sensitive about criticism levied at Fox News. What I am sensitive about is hypocrisy. There seems to have been almost a coordinated effort by other media and some individuals to undermine Fox News. The main reason is Fox News' success. They have higher ratings from what I've read over the other cable news outlets, and  nothing breeds contempt like success. Fox News fucked up; there's no doubt about it. But I've been watching the three major news networks and CNN and their sloppy, lazy, biased reporting for years, and have heard or read very little criticism about them.

Really good pizza. They claim to be NY style pizza but I don't have the expertise to confirm, what I can say is that we usually eat there once a week or every other weeks.
