This simple cottage dates from the early 1820's and was the home of William Barret Travis' family before he moved his law practice in Claiborne, Alabama to Texas and immortal fame as the commander of the Alamo. It will be one of the five antebellum homes featured, along with other historic structures, in the Old Claiborne Pilgrimage, October 13th and 14th.
