Introduction
Al Stefanelli is a retired author, writer, journalist, publisher and civil rights activist. Al began his career in 1985, starting with the New York Times. In 1993 he joined a McClatchy newspaper, writing a weekly column for ten years. From 2003 until his retirement, he freelanced.

He is the author of two books covering atheism, religion and politics. He has written thousands of articles and newspaper columns, appeared on and hosted numerous radio and television programs, published a newspaper, has done a public service commercial and is also in a movie.

Al now enjoys a quiet and serene life with his wife in the suburbs of Atlanta and is no longer active in public life. He has four grown children and three grandchildren.

Al is permanently disabled and asks that you contribute to the National Parkinson's Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation as well as the American Diabetes Association.
