Looking forward to tonight's discussion.
What about Letters to the Next President for Young Authors, younger than 13? Join a conversation with elementary and middle school teachers +Ada Okun, +Al Elliott, +Gail Desler, +Mariana Lombardo, (we hope +Kevin Hodgson) and more on Wed. Sept. 21 at 9pmET/6pmPT on Teachers Teaching Teachers http://edtectalk.com/ttt

If you haven't checked it out yet, you'll be amazed by the collection of resources and tools for this election's letters http://resources.letters2president.org/resources/ and it's been great to watch those orange dots pop up at http://letters2president.org

As the elementary school students in this video (from Marina's class a few years ago) demonstrate, students younger than 13 can make powerful arguments to the next president/mayor: https://vimeo.com/76865144

We invite you this coming Wednesday, September 21 at 9PM Eastern/8PM Central/7PM Mountain/6PM Pacific on Teachers Teaching Teachers to talk about how you might already be implementing a Letters to the Next President project -- or how you might want to this election season.

We welcome posts by Young Authors from elementary school and the young middle school grades to post Letters to the Next President on http://youthvoices.live

On the new platform for Youth Voices http://youthvoices.live we have built in a system of user groups that allow younger students, with careful parent permission, to join the site and only see posts that are appropriate for their eyes and the eyes of a general public. In addition, they can see and respond to each other's "Young Author" posts without others seeing them if they prefer or they can write only to others in their school.

We are hoping to build the work with elementary students on Youth Voices this fall, starting with Letters to the Next President. The more elementary school teachers and students who get involved, the more the site will have the flavor of your younger students, something we want. So that's the long-range idea -- inviting younger students to join us on Youth Voices.

Sound like something you might want to get involved with? Join us this Wednesday on Teachers Teaching Teachers http://edtechtalk.com/ttt on a Hangout On Air at 9PM Eastern/6PM Pacific to talk about Letters to the Next President for Young Authors, 12 and below.
