Goodbye to a leader of salmon restoration on the Olympic Peninsula. I was honored to have interviewed him and his wife Marie.

Immensely thankful that my company Mountainstone Productions has been given the ability to do the first live broadcast from Wintergrass bluegrass festival.  We respect the high production values that represent WG and are working hard to be ready to translate that to the web. Live from Bellevue Washington, the best bluegrass you'll see in February!

For the first time ever, Wintergrass will be broadcasting live shows from the festival. Friday night's lineup includes Jayme Stone & the Lomax Project, Kathy Kallick & Laurie Lewis, Jeff Scroggins & Colorado and the G Burns Jug Band. Very interesting article about affective computing. While there are a lot of "pros" for doing this work, there are a scary array of 'cons'. the ultimate next step to a big brother world.

The deadline for comments will close Friday. This is not a simple issue but one that could have serious impacts to many beautiful and quiet parts of the west side of the Olympic National Park Washington State. It could set precedent elsewhere.

This is a very short but comprehensive article. Read it and act.
NOTE: This story includes: links within the text to take you directly to pertinent documents and two side bar stories with additional information. The time allotted for public comment on the Navy's proposed electromagnetic radiation warfare exercises in the Olympic National Forest is set to close after November 28th 2014. The time zone used on…

A shot taken a while back, but still worth sharing with the group, as I haven't before. Flagler in the rain.

Start the day out right. Filter #Kiva loans by amount remaining and get a bunch of people started on improving their lives. I just did.
A portion of the loan helped a member to buy food and clothing thereby eliminating pressure to sell corn for low prices at harvest.

Great folks, super customer service. Always cheerful and have a spectacular inventory. If you need feed or a present for someone who likes birds, this is the place.

My wife and I recently returned from 8 days on the river with GCE. The trip was just superb. Greg E. and his buddy Colby were great folks to have as boatman and swamper. Logistics were excellent. Food fabulous. We also lucked out and got a great group of people by the luck of the draw. I would highly recommend GCE to anyone going down the river, and if you have any doubts about going, just do it. The trip is one of the best trips of any kind I've ever taken. The Canyon from the river is just beyond description.

Just had to repair a 4 year old hot tub that was bought elsewhere (and was out of business). Mike and Troy did a great job of troubleshooting it, getting a part in and fixing it. Won my business in the future. Great guys, great work, great attitude.

who cares if the decor is ok and the service slow because everyone eats there. We love the Waterfront, and it's the only place I go for pizza. It's not heaven, but it's damn good pizza.

Asked to do a review of my quick repair yesterday. I've been a customer of Honda of Seattle off and on for over two decades, but not as often as I don't live close enough to go there all the time. Recently took my van in for a recall fix as I had errands in Seattle. I can say that the service department still seems excellent. I think that the possible extra cost of taking it to a dealer is offset by the expertise they bring.

I used Platt Irwin Taylor's Dave Neupert to handle a will and other documents for me. Dave did a great job of being clear about the issues, and charged a reasonable amount. I would recommend them again for this kind of work.
