GroovySparql 0.9.0 released.  New features is the ability to run SPARQL queries over a CSV file, where columns become the attributes.  Docs also updated in the README: https://github.com/AlBaker/GroovySparql   #SPARQL   #Groovy

Clojure and SPARQL tutorial code and data available on Github from the SemTechBiz workshop last week.

Repo is here:
https://github.com/clarkparsia/semtech2014

This has both the stardog-clj library and the clj-sparql library.  It featured the lein oneoff plugin, so it should be easy to quickly try different things out.  The workshop built up from the basics to more complex applications.

Hey folks, just wanted to get the word out that we'll be debuting Clojure support for the semantic web at this year's Semtech 2014 Conference.  We'll be covering Clojure and Groovy in the Modern Languages talk on the 19th:

http://semtechbizsj2014.semanticweb.com/sessionPop.cfm?confid=82&proposalid=6689

I'll be going over building engineering lifecycle tools with Clojure, pulling linked data down with clj-sparql, ingesting it in Stardog with stardog-clj, and doing a few other analysis items.

Semtech runs in parallel with NoSQL, so if you're at either - feel free to drop by.

Stardog is a commercial RDF database: Fast SPARQL query answering, lightweight, pure Java, transactional, with world class OWL 2 reasoning support. It's an ideal fit for any problem where the data model is a graph and data integration is crucial.

GroovySparql 0.7.2 released, updated with #SPARQL  Update, so you can now do both SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, etc queries against standard SPARQL Endpoints.  Tested with +Stardog: The RDF Database 2.x

Using the new +Stardog: The RDF Database web console to rapidly do some ad hoc #SPARQL   queries against a complex data set

This has both the GroovySparql library and the stardog-groovy library.  It featured building a #LinkedData app using Spring Boot, so it should be easy to quickly try different things out.  The workshop built up from the basics to more complex applications, so you can follow along about 40 different scripts and then look at the bigger apps.

The data is the OSLC standard for sharing data amongst lifecycle tools (e.g. IBM Rational, Bugzilla, etc).

Enjoy!

Happy to get 2.1.3 out the door!

We released 2.1.3 this week. Check it out.

Stardog 2.1.3 release with Clojure support - Have a nice addition to the #Clojure   ecosystem - Stardog, world leading, high performance RDF database now has Clojure support.  This enables developers access to the logic reasoning, integrity constraint, and rules processing along with the flexibility of a graphdb model.

Pull requests welcome at https://github.com/clarkparsia/stardog-clj

One of the great new features in +Stardog: The RDF Database is the new #Stardog  Rules feature, which provides IF/THEN syntactic structure for creating rules.  Stardog supports all of the different standard rule definitions, including just #SPARQL , but Stardog Rules provides a much easier to use interface.  Think of adding IF and THEN as operators within SPARQL, and you have a nice language to express simple rules.

For example:

IF {
      ?x a :Person; hasAge ?age.
      FILTER (?age >= 13 && ?age <= 19)
}
THEN {
      ?x a :Teenager.
}

This syntax looks like a SPARQL query, and feels natural for writing rules.  While you can still write SWRL, OWL, SPARQL, I for one enjoy Stardog Rules.
