Today is Tuesday and I have been calling all day to talk to someone. I guess they are closed although they claim they are open. I have left several messages. I like Dr. Caves, but it's really hard to get an appointment with him. The staff is friendly, I don't think the problem is with them. I don't know what's going on. It's been very confusing lately. I don't know if it's because Dr. Michaels is no longer involved, he is retired. I hope it gets better.

The staff and dentist have done a great job taking care of my sons teeth. They explained several options on deciding which insurance that would work best for his situation. I highly recommend Affinity Dental to anyone looking for quality and professionalism.

Affinity Dental is the best dentist office to go to. Peggy and Sandra are the two best receptionist I have ever met! They both greeted me and asked about how I was doing. I always feel welcomed by those two. Thank you Affinity Dental!

Had a very good talk with the financial coordinator on how to be up front with the prices and services rendered. They then worked with me and we figured out I how we could make my budget stretch and get the important dental work done at least. The staff service is always great.

We haven't been to the dentist in a long time, so we were a bit nervous! Our experience was great, though. Everyone was really nice, from the ladies at the front, to the dentist! I'm glad we chose this provider to fulfill the rest of our dental needs.

Adults Over 60 - Nutrition An apple a day keeps cavities away? You can help prevent tooth decay by making smart and healthy food choices. Choose fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, and lean proteins like turkey, chicken and fish. Limit processed foods and beverages that are high in sugar – they can lead to tooth decay and obesity. Here are some MouthHealthy tips on foods that can be harmful to your dental health. Also, limit your alcohol intake since alcohol can irritate the sensitive lining of the mouth and may also increase your risk of oral cancer. To learn what foods are best for you, visit ChooseMyPlate.gov, a website from the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Improvements needed in preventive dental care in the USA The uptake rate of preventative dental care increased over a ten-year period in the United States, but there remains a large disparity among ethnic groups, reports one of the largest and most comprehensive studies on the subject, published in the open-access journal Frontiers in Public Health.

Adults 40-60 - Concerns The first stage of gum disease is called gingivitis, which is the only stage that is reversible. If not treated, gingivitis may lead to a more serious, destructive form of gum/periodontal disease called periodontitis. It is possible to have gum disease and have no warning signs. That is one reason why regular dental checkups and periodontal examinations are so important. Treatment methods depend upon the type of disease and how far the condition has progressed. Good oral hygiene at home is essential to help keep periodontal disease from becoming more serious or recurring. Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth daily, eat a balanced diet, and schedule regular dental visits for a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Adults Over 60 - Concerns You may wonder why you’re suddenly getting cavities when you haven’t had them in years. As we get older, we enter a second round of cavity prone years. One common cause of cavities in older adults is dry mouth. Dry mouth is not a normal part of aging. However, it is a side-effect in more than 500 medications, including those for allergies or asthma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pain, anxiety or depression, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. This is just one reason why it’s so important to tell your dentist about any medications that you’re taking. Your dentist can make recommendations to help relieve your dry mouth symptoms and prevent cavities.
