all depends on resolution and colour registration - which of course in physical film is down to grain size.

Watching movies just got better.

The +Google Play Movies app now lets you scroll through second-by-second thumbnails by just swiping your finger.

Swipe multiple times to move by 10-second increments.

You can also customise captions and switch accounts easily in the navigation menu. Have you tried it yet? http://goo.gl/6BWqN1

Play your heart out.

Nice!

Today we’re launching Google Camera, a new app for your Android phone or tablet that makes it easy to take quick photos and videos. And being behind the lens just got more fun with new creative picture modes.

Sleek Design. The 100% viewfinder gets out of your way while capturing the maximum resolution of the scene (no dropped pixels). And the extra large capture button is easy to press so your eyes never lose sight of the subject.

Lens Blur. Emphasize the subject while blurring the background for an SLR-like shot with shallow depth-of-field (or bokeh). You can even change the subject in focus after taking the shot.

Improved Panorama. New higher resolution panoramas capture the full width and detail of a scene.

Photo Sphere. Immersive 360 degree photo spheres let you look up, down and all around...now at up to 50 megapixels! For the first time available on non-Nexus devices.

Google Camera is now available on the Play store (http://goo.gl/llsZjx), and works on all phones and tablets running Android 4.4+ KitKat. We’re just getting started, and in the months ahead we'll make Google Camera available to more devices, helping make photography easier, faster and more fun.

Check out our Research Blog to learn more (http://goo.gl/lUDfi8).

Story
Tagline
Idealist, loving the gadget revolution. Can't wait for wearable tech and a true always connected lifestyle. And a proud cat owner! Oh, and Ingress player.
Introduction
Probably a borderline geek. I do love my gadgets and always trying to keep abreast with the latest tech innovation. Contemplating going back to do a second degree in Computer Science so I can hang tough with the software folks.

A frustrated idealist but also a serial fence sitter. I can have strong convictions/opinions but I'm also very open minded and non-judgemental. My brain is pretty much wired like a circuit; anything that is logical computes. So I can have an idea of how things should be but when considering the multitude of scenarios I can also appreciate that there is no one clear winner. That said, I do like to aim for the ideal solution where good triumphs.

Various other interests include photography, travelling, gardening, anime, comics, video games, baking, pampering my cat.

Usually, I'm just trying to keep it all real and simple.

Note: I moderate the Ingress Resistance Manchester, Ingress Resistance North West UK and Ingress North West England Cross Faction communities on Google+. So if you've applied to join either of them, and you've been circled by me, please add me back in return. Thanks!

For a change, this bar is not decked out in industrial chic decor as is the rage these days. Bouncers are friendly, music decent and drinks are the usual options. Nice to pass the time in but not exactly memorable.

It doesn't have an obvious signage but if you chance upon this bar, you might quite possibly enjoy it. I couldn't quantify it exactly but it had a London vibe to it; a kaleidoscope of clientele who are happy to mingle, share tables and chat to each other. The industrial decor does make the sound quality rather harsh in there so expect to raise your voice to be heard over the music from the live DJ and also the general chatter from other patrons.

First off, I'm a Starbucks fan only because I prefer their ice blended coffee options. Costa does what I call "proper coffee" which most people will enjoy but it's not for me. But I have to say that I love this cafe for its decor/layout. Lovely comfy sits in an open and bright area. It's a right shame Starbucks does not have a branch like this but that's why I sneak off to here from time to time. Oh, and I do like the cakes/muffins!

Great little place with nice food and drinks. Love the industrial decor and the wooden cladding over the arches ceiling. Hip Motown classics playing away in the background. Really nice to just chill. However, service is a bit slow and it gets rather warm on the top floor. Still a neat place to bring friends too.

Dusk Til Pawn is an 'extension' of sorts to NoHo, the bar next door and they even share a common door that patrons can use to quickly nip back and forth. It's a pretty chilled out place and judging by the orders around me, seem to cater to folks who enjoy cocktails. I had a go at Hard Candy (it had candy floss in it!) and Greenback (sake, whisky, green tea and lychee as well as a fortune cookie!) and would definitely recommend the latter. Friends had vodka with mixers but unfortunately the consensus was that they could hardly taste the vodka.

Been wanting to dine here for a while and I'll just say it, but it's worth the wait! Huge fan of BBQ so I wasn't disappointed at all. I had the half chicken which was mmm-gorgeous! Tried all the BBQ sauces, settled for a couple that I preferred and just enjoyed my meal in a lovely industrial-esque decor. Definitely coming back to try the wings and donut burger! A note of caution to all potential patrons, you're going to leave the place reeking of BBQ smells! When you first enter, you'll notice it's a tad smoky!

There are certain elements in this cafe/bakery that could be improved; better ventilation to keep the smells of fry ups away from sitting area, better layout of checkout counter and a general tidying up behind the counter. The coffee came looking bland but surprisingly was good. It had a thick head of foam which I'm partial to and a good strong coffee oomph! Certainly will keep my buzzing for a bit! It's the same with the sandwiches that tasted better than it looks. Overall, it's OK and I wouldn't mind coming back again.
