As the most traded and sought after commodity on the web, our attention is the target for so many platform owners and content creators who are constantly experimenting with betters ways to accumulate more. This zero-sum game battleground for our brains could have disastrous consequences if we don't work to discourage attempts to game the attention economy. In this brief presentation given at Vancouver's Future Camp 2016, I outline some of the ways I hope we will wrestle back control of our attention against the background of innovations in connective devices that will give marketers better data to exploit our distractibility.
