SUrvey Network for Deep Imaging Analysis & Learning

From June 11th to June 15th 2018, ADCIS attented the first annual meeting SUNDIAL in Naples, Italy. SUNDIAL (SUrvey Network for Deep Imaging Analysis & Learning) is an ambitious interdisciplinary network of nine research groups in The Netherlands, Germany, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium and Italy. The aim of the network is to develop novel algorithms to study the very large databases coming from current-day telescopes to better understand galaxy formation and evolution, and to prepare for the huge missions of the next decade.
Bruno Laÿ (CEO at ADCIS) gave a presentation relying on his expertise and his excellence in various fields as Image Processing, Analysis, and Understanding. He talked about the ADCIS expertise in the field, and the ADCIS involvement in imaging applications relying on Deep Learning and Machine Learning techniques.

ADCIS will welcome a Ph.D. student later this year to work on innovative imaging algorithms to be used in the SUNDIAL project.

From April 29th to May 3rd, 2018, ADCIS attented the annual convention of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) in Honolulu, Hawaï.

Each year, experts in ophthalmology meet at the conference to discuss the latest development works in the field of ophthalmology.

During the event, ADCIS presented works in partnership with University of Iowa.

ADCIS develops imaging software for innovative companies in areas of excellence such as health.

From an imprint of eye surface, it is possible to recover the lost visual acuity following a major damage.
The new version of the EyePrint Designer (EPD) Software, which has been developed by ADCIS Engineering Team for an American company, is now available.
This new version has been presented at the Global Specialty Lens Symposium last January in Las Vegas. It integrates new functionalities, such as an enhanced geometric model of limbus shape, it is coupled with an Oculus aberrometer that detects Higher Order Aberrations, and is linked to Sterling/Ametek Optoform lathes to mill the appropriate corrective lens.
This software is based on the development of an imprint processing of the ocular surface for scleral lenses. Using a 3D scanned mold, this software allows to develop a model of the various surface areas that make up the lens, then obtain a 3D visualization, and mill it on a DAC International or Sterling/Ametek lathe

The manufactured lenses are customized and adjusted to the precise eye delineation to offer a perfect-fit protection with maximum comfort and optimum vision.

Our company presented a joint development work with L'Oréal on the analysis of histological cuts:
Specific image processing for automated analysis of histological cuts of reconstructed in vitro SKIN and ex vivo human skin

En partenariat avec la Fondation Rothschild, un logiciel de mesure de flux sanguin dans les vaisseaux de la rétine a été développé. Ce logiciel prend en données d’entrée les différentes couches de la rétine, reconstruit ces couches afin de générer un véritable volume 3D représentant les vaisseaux, permettant à l’utilisateur de visualiser le volume dans l’espace 3D, puis fournit des mesures sur les vaisseaux. Ce logiciel, extrêmement novateur a été présenté dans le cadre de plusieurs congrès et conférences. Les images générées (obtenues avec un système OCT Angiography d’Heidelberg engineering GmbH) ont fortement impressionné les ophtalmologistes, et les Cahiers de l’Ophtalmologie du mois de juin-juillet ont présenté en page de couverture les images créées avec le logiciel de la société ADCIS.

Last March, the Institut d'Optique Graduate School in Paris at Palaiseau Orsay delivered the first version of the portable retinograph developed as part of the RetinOpTIC project. The retinograph is one of three products from the RetinOpTIC project. The other two products are a software package for the automatic detection of diabetic retinopathy, and an evaluation platform integrating the retinograph, image processing algorithms, and a console for viewing images and managing patient data. The company Effilux, one of the partners of the project is now in charge of the industrialization of the retinograph. This retinal color image acquisition system will allow for massive screening for diabetic retinopathy and will be easy to use in order to be deployed on a large scale.
