Introduction
Sweet Music Studio owner Adam R Sweet was born in Boston in 1962.  He participated in a pilot program offered by the New England Conservatory of Music at Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA from 1966 to 1975, graduating and moving to study violin and performance at the Conservatory of Rivers in Weston.  He attended the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music in Nelson, NH studying ensembles and viola, graduating in 1980.  At Hampshire College, Mr. Sweet majored in Ethnomusicology, studying the history of western European music of the middle ages through the 19th century, completing his Div II project called "Universals in Music", which discovered in part, how the music of the Seven Celtic Nations influenced the development of Bluegrass in America.  He studied psychology and arts therapies, completing his Div III project called "Music Therapy".    He graduated in January of 1985, and opened his studio at his home in Amherst in the Spring of 1986.

Sweet Music Studio provides music lessons, both private and group, online and in person.  Currently located in South Hadley, MA, you can check the schedule of availability to see if there are any open slots.

Students learn the basics of holding the instrument and producing the first melodies and chords.  Advanced students participate in the groups to extend their repertoire and get experience performing live in front of an audience.  Advanced mandolin students may participate in the Mandolin Orchestra at no extra charge.

Mr. Sweet offers lessons on the following instruments: violin (and all the bowed family instruments), mandolin (and all the mandolin family instruments).  Sweet specializes in the following styles of music:

Glad I don't live in Chile.  Does this happen often down there?
One of South America's most active volcanos erupted early Tuesday in southern Chile, spewing heavy smoke into the air as lava surged down its slopes, prompting authorities to ev...

A very interesting article specifically about Holyoke and generally about small former industrial cities and how they can recover.

As much as the current cold wave sucks, it does offer local media outlets some great content opportunities. Ice floes are nothing new and they happen elsewhere, but like all things weather, when they happen in New York City, they carry even greater significance (at least to New Yorkers) than when they form in other places around the country. So, after documenting what frozen Manhattan looks like from a helicopter, this morning we flew our quadrocopter ANIMAL 3 over the Hudson River near the Intrepid to get a slightly closer look of the ice that makes the West Side look otherworldly.

A newly discovered fossil has shaken up science’s view of human evolution and could be the missing link between apes and humans: 400,000 years older than the oldest human bone found, the discovery could entirely rewrite our story.

Google already tried (and failed) this policy.  Remember "Real Names"?  I do too...

Here's my demo of the Hora mandola

The Hora mandola arrived a couple days ago. I'm testing it out here to demonstrate what it's like out of the box.

Assuming the others on the Mandolin Committee like it, we will be using the Hora instruments in the Play To Own program.
