Now that a Tiger Team has assessed the nature and causes of damage to Curiosity's wheels, I can finally answer your frequently-asked questions about what wheel damage means for the mission, and why it wasn't anticipated.

Beyond Earth, Jupiter’s moon Europa is considered one of the most promising places in the solar system to search for signs of present-day life, and a new NASA mission to explore this potential is moving forward from concept review to development.

Adding cycling to the transportation mix is key for livable communities.  How is it best done?  Infrastructure!  Like the protected bike lane system in Montreal.

Incredible.  The moon crossing the face of the Earth as seen from GoreSat (DISCOVR).  It's the far side we're seeing in this imagery.

At 598 meters (1,962 ft) below the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana, ROV Hercules encountered a magnificent sperm whale. The whale circled Hercules several times and gave our cameras the chance to capture some incredible footage of this beautiful creature. Encounters between sperm whales and ROV's are very rare.

Very nice hotel. Sound leaks from adjoining room. Overall a very nice hotel, but they lost a star due to ambient sound leaking from an adjoining room (normal TV volume in next room sounded like an adult from Charlie Brown). Outstanding location in Coolidge Corner. Steps away from the Green Line & access to downtown Boston. Right next to all kinds of great restaurants, bars, & shops. Immaculate rooms. Clean common areas. Postage stamp pool for the kids. Very nice relaxing courtyard. Overall, I would recommend it more highly than the Holiday Inn down the hill, but make sure you've got no connecting door to the next room.

I'm generally not a doughnut fan, but wow, these were great! Had six (small) plain doughnuts bagged straight out of the fryolator. The espresso was also very very good. Cash only. Very friendly service. Nice seating by the window between them & the bagel shop.

What would Boston's Faneuil Hall be like if it wasn't utterly dominated by national chains? Check out Pike Place. Very crowded, but wandering around I got the sense there was still some real Seattle here. I particularly liked the Daily Dozen doughnuts and their very good espresso.

Good location right by the ferry. Car parking is a slight hassle. My room was on the second floor facing the plaza and quite a bit of ambient sound from outside would filter in. Turned out not to be an issue since I went to bed later than any plaza based revelers. ;-) Ironically in the morning when I left my room I heard that the baby next door was crying -- the sound proofing between the rooms is outstanding. Didn't hear that at all when I was in my room. Staff was friendly and efficient. Check in was swift. I asked to have my room moved due to the exterior noise. They couldn't accommodate my request since the hotel was full. The staff member was quite apologetic & offered ear plugs. The people staffing the breakfast were also very friendly. Room & hotel was sparkling clean. The free breakfast was fairly standard. They have a couple tables out on the plaza by the fountain that are much nicer than the noisy-ish dining area dominated by the TV. Free newspapers are also available. The wifi service was solid and fast by hotel standards. Parking is a bit of a hassle and not included in the price of the hotel. If their dedicated spaces on the first level are full up, you have to go to the third level. If you go to the second you get a ticket. Access to the hotel was confusing from the third level (I was jet-lagged, cut me some slack), so I ended up just walking around outside. The hotel is right on the marina and all sorts of restaurants and shops are a short walk away.

Very good pho, excellent prices, OK service. Really enjoyed my vegetarian pho, summer rolls, and the very very good Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk. The veggies in the pho were really fresh -- a much more enjoyable pho than I get in Boston. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Service was timely, though they seemed to get a little overwhelmed when several tables were seated simultaneously. My meal came out in a timely fashion with the appetizer appropriately spaced out from the entree. Check was only slightly delayed.

The best espresso I've ever had. Great staff. Their beans are superb. Nice place to sit down. But all that pales before the best cup of espresso I've ever had. All kinds of flavor notes going on there, very complex beverage. Just great.
