COPIES NOW AVAILABLE THE QUIET TOWN OF TIPTONMAHTAB HUSSAIN On 12th July 2013, a bomb exploded close to the Kanzul Iman mosque in Tipton, West Midlands. The bomb had been packed with nails. The police reported that it was only because the bomber had incorrect information about when Friday prayers would take place that the blast did not result in mass injuries. A week later, Pavlo Lapshyn, a Ukrainian student on a temporary work placement in Birmi...

I went for my first time last night and although it was a complete step in to the unknown, but the whole experience was absolutely fantastic! Despite the menu being pretty simple and not descriptive at all, the lady who served us happily explained in detail each dish; the type and quality of produce, the flavours to expect, which dishes would compliment each other and was so helpful. You could really feel the passion for the food in the way she talked. Not particularly being a 'foodie' myself, I was a little bemused by all this, but when we were served I have to admit, I completely understood. It was delicious. Not only was the food fantastic, the staff extremely lovely, but the night was soundtracked loudly to a banging selection of Queens of The Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, Guns n Roses and other heavy guitar classics. I loved it. I will be back!

Having rushed to make sure I was there in plenty of time, I arrived to find a packed waiting room so overcrowded that despite having a hip problem there weren't even enough chairs for everyone to sit down. I then wasn't seen until 50 minutes after my initial appointment time making me feel rather disgruntled while I waited; however I later found out this was due to an administrative error on behalf of my insurance provider. Despite my poor initial impressions, when I eventually saw Dr. Azzopardi he was exceptional in every way, the consummate professional. His attention to detail in diagnosis (which highlighted a misdiagnosis on the part of my GP) and the subsequent recommendation of treatment, clear information provided and patient manner was unparalleled. The nurses and receptionist were absolutely fantastic. The receptionist, in particular, deserves mention for handling several restless patients with a calm and considered demeanour given the tense atmosphere of waiting room running extremely late, There are elements that could certainly be improved, but the level of health care and professionalism of the staff was second to none.

I can't recommend House of Ho highly enough! The food was excellent, the drink flowed and the service was particularly excellent. Louisa the manager and Adam who served deserve particular mention for being so friendly and helpful.

Cartwrights is a great find in South London. We bought an amazing leather sofa at a fantastic price that included delivery. Everything was on time and delivered right to the spot we wanted it. Looking around the shop there seemed some fantastic bargains and hidden gems here. If you're looking for something different from the Ikea standard (yawn) then this is the place to try. Adam
