A lot of developer friends have been asking how to become a freelancer. So, I asked 4 friends who are already freelancing if they'd join a Google hangout and share the story of how they got started. The hangout will be this Wednesday at Noon PDT. Please join us to learn how each of us got started freelancing.
Adam Loving originally shared:

Learn from 4 developers about how started independent freelancing.

Recently a lot of friends have been asking me how I became a freelancer. I collected 4 freelance developer friends for a panel discussion on taking the leap. During the call, you'll learn how and why we each found our first gig.
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Adam Loving. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

This is a weekly #cycling race in Seattle, Washington - the entry-level race that starts at 5:30 PM. I usually do this race every Thursday night, but was recovering from dislocating my shoulder. It was about 90°F at the start.

Seattle Node and Swift developer. Viral user experience specialist, and gamification expert. Great Dane owner and cyclist.
Introduction
Adam is a full-stack software developer with 20 years professional programming expertise and a keen interest in growth hacking. Adam specializes in Node.js, Ruby on Rails, and Swift.

Cited in Lotus Magazine in his early teens, Adam's passion for viral user experience design led him to create Twibes which launched to 40,000 DAUs in a weekend. Adam's company Linksy was funded by TechStars in 2012. Adam is also the inventor of the Zuckerbuck (the first virtual currency on Facebook). His Facebook app "Dumb Americans" won an overnight coding contest at the CommunityNext conference in San Jose. He has also presented at several conferences on viral application design.

Adam got burnt out on programming briefly in 1996 and took a short 11 month trip around the world to visit 24 countries. From 2000-2003, he lived and worked in London as a software consultant before returning to his native Seattle.

Specialties: Ruby on Rails, Node.js, CoffeeScript, JavaScript, Swift, MySQL, Facebook Platform, Twitter API.
