These nests on my roof. The male drums om the tin roof and sometimes on the windows at back. I call him "The Mad Knocker". Having one sound off two meters from my ear are quite startling...
 
+Stig Carlsson Wow. These birds, though not uncommon here in Poland, nest very rarely here. I think there were none confirmed for several years.
 
I live on the beach of the big Lake Vänern and we have three pairs of them nesting on my little "island". Shrieking are what they seems to do most of the time. They dont behave like the ones in the books and mostly seems to live on earthworms and the occasional snail.
