Well, sitting next to the TV, I just get a handful of Asian and Spanish stations. Will have to see if I can pick up any of the major networks if I put it up over the roof. #hillsarenotmyfriends #diyantenna

USSD alerts in AutoNotification?

If I dial #932#, T-Mobile tells me my current data usage via a USSD pop-up alert.

I can grab the text of the alert using %WIN in Tasker. But I can't get rid of the alert without clicking OK (I'm not rooted).

There's already apps out there that do this by running an accessibility service to catch the USSD alerts, then putting the alert text in as a notification and dismissing the alert, but I figure I'd throw the idea out there. In case +João Dias is bored and wants to implement it :)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.paco.ussd&hl=en is one app that does it. I purchased it, seems to work well enough. But I already have Autonotification running for other things, so if it were to gain this functionality I'd switch to that.

I'm actually working on something that'll allow that :) Stay tuned.

Benchmark Photos  -

I had heard that Niantic is accepting benchmarks as portals a while ago, but just discovered this community.

These are my first two submissions. Found the OC Flood Control District VP#6 by chance while mountain biking (to some portals). The other is in the sidewalk near a park with a few portals. Didn't chance upon that one, I found that OC makes its benchmarks available for view in Google Earth.

Here's to hoping for some acceptance emails soon!

Frankly, I'm surprised that I would have taken my camcorder ten years into the future and taken a picture with it. But I don't have a better explanation of where this picture came from?

Let me know how that time machine's coming along. If you need to borrow my Flux Capacitor, I'll have to pick it up first in 2025.

Those numbers don't look so good.

I'm confused on the disparity between "English" and "Reading."  Don't they sort of go together?  If anything, I would think the numbers would be slightly reversed with students being able to parse the written language, but perhaps being less skillful at original usage.

So this story may be more hype than danger, but still, what should you do?

1. DON'T PANIC
2. Use unique, strong passwords on email, social, and financial sites.
3. Use two-factor authentication where possible.
4. Make up answers for security questions. *
5. Use a password manager like LastPass or KeePass, because you're going to forget things.

* You don't want your #throwbackthursday  Facebook post to accidentally expose any answers for your security questions, right?

Because recharging wasn't fun enough, they added more steps and confusing navigation. Thanks, +NIA Ops

In December my wife and I ordered furniture through USA Baby, specifying that we wanted it by the end of February. The order went out to the manufacturer (Baby's Dream). It arrived in several different shipments, the last piece finally arriving at the store at the beginning of June! The staff at USA Baby is helpful and courteous, but they apparently have little influence on the furniture manufacturers, who treat the order request date as just that, a request that they can ignore. If the furniture you want isn't in stock at the store, ask for delivery ASAP and hopefully you'll have better luck than we did!
